Denver Broncos First TD Scorer: J.K. Dobbins (+425)

Unfortunately, J.K. Dobbins has struggled to stay healthy, missing 53.5% of his career games. Last season, the veteran missed the final seven contests, including both matchups against the Chiefs. However, he was productive before getting hurt. Dobbins had four rushing touchdowns over the first five weeks, scoring at least once in each of Denver's first three contests. More importantly, the Broncos remained committed to the run even with the veteran out of the lineup.

Despite missing their starting running back in both matchups against the division rivals, Denver stuck with the running game. In two games against the Chiefs in 2025, the Broncos scored three rushing touchdowns. Furthermore, Jaleel McLaughlin scored the first Denver touchdown in the Week 11 matchup against the Chiefs, the team's first game without Dobbins last season. The Broncos have no reason not to lean on the veteran, especially early in Monday's game.

Kansas City Chiefs First TD Scorer: Kenneth Walker III (+230)

After years of having little investment in the running back unit, the Chiefs signed Kenneth Walker III to a massive contract in free agency. The former Seattle Seahawks star will be the focal point of Kansas City's offense this season, especially with Patrick Mahomes coming off a significant knee injury. Last season, the former Michigan State star scored five rushing touchdowns as a part-time player for Seattle. However, he is a dangerous runner with the ball in his hands.

Before losing goal-line work to Zach Charbonnet in 2025, Walker had a 4% rushing touchdown rate in his career. More importantly, the Broncos have an elite pass defense, but their run defense is somewhat vulnerable. Denver surrendered 14 touchdowns to running backs last season, with six coming in the air, the third-most in the NFL. Furthermore, the first Chiefs touchdown scored in both of last year's matchups against the Broncos was by a running back.

Anytime TD Scorer: Jaylen Waddle (+205)

Denver might have the best roster in the NFL, lacking any significant holes on paper. However, the team did need a go-to No. 1 wide receiver, especially with Courtland Sutton on the wrong side of 30. Therefore, it's no surprise that the Broncos traded multiple draft picks to acquire Jaylen Waddle with plans to make him a focal point of the offense. Despite playing on a dysfunctional Miami Dolphins offense in 2025, the veteran still scored six receiving touchdowns.

Last season, the Chiefs held wide receivers to only 10 receiving touchdowns, the fifth-fewest in the NFL. Unfortunately, Kansas City's Week 1 secondary looks drastically different from the unit they had last season, losing three starters - cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, and safety Bryan Cook. Expect first-time play-caller Davis Webb to make Waddle a massive part of the game plan against Kansas City.

Anytime TD Scorer: Travis Kelce (+205)

While Travis Kelce is no longer the elite tight end he was a few years ago, the future Hall of Famer is still an impact player. Last season, the veteran led the Chiefs with five receiving touchdowns despite not having Patrick Mahomes for the entire season. More importantly, Kelce found the end zone in last season’s Week 11 matchup against the Broncos with Mahomes under center. Bettors shouldn't be surprised if that happens again in Week 1.

Many believe Kansas City will limit Mahomes’ time in the pocket on Monday night. Therefore, Kelce should see an uptick in quick targets as the team's most reliable receiver. Meanwhile, Denver's elite pass defense had mixed results defending tight ends in 2025, allowing six receiving touchdowns. Kelce has scored a touchdown in his last two games against the Broncos with Mahomes under center. Don't be shocked if he makes it three in a row on Monday night.
