This total could be 20 yards higher, and we'd still recommend taking the over. The Lions forced four interceptions last week but also gave up 411 passing yards to Nick Mullens. Mullens was the first passer in six games to throw for over 300 yards against the Lions, but those results have more to do with the quarterbacks the Lions faced during that span than their defense.
Perhaps Prescott's four 300-yard performances in five weeks were a fluke. Since then, he's thrown for fewer than 275 yards in three of four games, including a 134-yard performance against the Buffalo Bills. But Prescott has gotten into a rhythm against weak secondaries this season. In a high-scoring game, Prescott will throw for over 300 yards.
If Prescott is going to compile yardage, then so will CeeDee Lamb. While Justin Jefferson is in a league of his own, what he was able to do against the Lions last week with a third-string quarterback was nothing short of phenomenal. The Lions double-teamed him for the entire game, and he still finished with six catches for 141 yards and one touchdown.
The Cowboys are putting a healthier offense on the field than the Vikings did a week ago, which means the Lions won't be able to focus all of their attention on Lamb. Lamb has gone for over 100 yards in two of his last four games and in seven games this season.
The Lions have struggled against true No. 1 receivers this season. In addition to the Jefferson performance last week, Chris Olave, Christian Watson, D.J. Moore, and Keenan Allen have all posted at least 94 yards against them in the last seven weeks. If 94 yards is Lamb's floor, then there is no reason to avoid this over.
Jahmyr Gibbs has certainly taken over as the primary running back in Detroit. Yet, while his numbers aren't nearly as good as the rookie's, David Montgomery is still seeing plenty of touches in every game. In each of his last two games, he's touched the ball 19 times, and he has at least two catches in each of his last three games.
The Cowboys’ pass rush is one of the best in the NFL. Though they're just 14th in the league in sacks per game, they will put constant pressure on Jared Goff. This will lead to more designed screens and necessary check-downs. While Gibbs will get most of those, the Lions aren't afraid to throw the ball to Montgomery as well. Over the past three weeks, he's been targeted eight times, and all but one of those targets were caught.
