NFL Week 16 Saturday PrizePicks Player Predictions
The Bills ran the ball all over the Dallas Cowboys this past weekend. While they could certainly have success running against the Chargers, the Chargers’ main weakness is their secondary. They're allowing 261.4 passing yards per game, the third-most in the NFL.
Before Sunday's 94-yard performance, Allen had thrown for at least 230 yards in three consecutive games. That includes a 275-yard performance against the New York Jets and their second-ranked pass defense.
Even if the Bills jump out to a huge lead in this game, Allen will still throw the ball plenty. Against this defense, he may only need three quarters to clear this total.
The first time these two teams met, Mixon ran the ball just eight times for 16 yards. That performance came in Jake Browning's first start following Joe Burrow's season-ending injury. A lot has changed since that game.
The Steelers have lost three games in a row, two of which came against the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots. Meanwhile, the Bengals have rattled off three wins in a row, all over teams that are .500 or better.
Even without Ja'Marr Chase, the Bengals' offense is going to be much better in this matchup. The good news for the passing attack is there won't be much pressure on them, as the Steelers are allowing 121.6 rushing yards per game. Mason Rudolph is starting for the Steelers this week, and that's simply bad news for the Steelers. The Bengals will get out to an early lead, and Mixon will take advantage of a bad rush defense.
Over the past few weeks, Pickens has fallen behind Diontae Johnson in the Steelers' receiving corps. He's compiled fewer than 50 yards in back-to-back games, and two weeks ago, he averaged just 3.8 yards per catch. Additionally, Johnson has been the red-zone target, scoring in each of his last three games.
Considering Pickens went for 58 yards in his first game against the Bengals, this feels like a really low number. But with Pickens' effort in recent weeks mixed with the fact that Rudolph is throwing to him this week, it's not surprising oddsmakers don't have much faith in him.
The Bengals are allowing 254.1 passing yards per game, but it's unlikely the Steelers can take advantage of any potential weakness because of their offensive personnel.
