The Jaguars hope their banged-up quarterback will start this week, which is a meaningful consideration for one pick. Conversely, the Saints’ starting quarterback is trending in the right direction after playing through a shoulder injury. He should be busy against a pass-funnel defense, and one of his pass-catchers has a cushy matchup.

Here are my best PrizePicks player predictions for Week 7, “Thursday Night Football,” Jaguars vs. Saints.

Best TNF Week 7 PrizePicks Player Predictions
Derek Carr OVER 239.5 Passing Yards
Derek Carr began the season by passing for 305 yards against the pass-funnel Titans. He had a four-week lull that included suffering a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder. Fortunately, he was a full practice participant on Tuesday.
Couple his practice participation with passing for a season-high 353 yards last week, and Carr is trending upward. Additionally, New Orleans’s offensive tendencies are ideal for his passing outlook.
According to RotoViz’s pace app, the Saints have passed on 59% of their plays in a neutral game script this year. That mark was up lately. Conversely, Jacksonville’s opponents have passed on 66% of their plays in a neutral game script this year, resulting in the Jags coughing up the second-most passing yards per game (270.3). Thus, Carr is projected by FantasyPros for 247.7 passing yards this week.
Calvin Ridley UNDER 54.5 Receiving Yards
Calvin Ridley hasn’t been a world-beater this year. In fact, he’s been inconsistent. Sure, he’s averaging 60.5 receiving yards per game. However, Ridley’s median is 39. He’s gone under 54.5 receiving yards in four of six contests.
Ridley has a challenging matchup this week, and Trevor Lawrence is attempting to play on a sprained knee this week. According to The 33rd Team, the Saints have allowed only 141 receiving yards per game to wideouts. It’s more likely Ridley has another underwhelming effort than a blowup performance this week.
Alvin Kamara OVER 29.5 Receiving Yards
I teased the Saints were passing more often lately. Since Alvin Kamara returned from a three-game suspension, the Saints have passed on 64% of their plays in a neutral game script.
The do-it-all running back has been heavily involved in the passing attack. He’s averaging just 28.7 receiving yards per game, but he’s been over 29.5 receiving yards twice, with a median of 33 in three games this year.
Kamara should have success through the air against Jacksonville’s defense. The Jaguars have allowed 40.5 receiving yards per game to running backs in 2023. As a result, FantasyPros is projecting Kamara for 34.3 receiving yards.
