Eagles Moneyline (-410)

This one I feel incredibly comfortable with, and the -410 odds back this up.

The Eagles are at home, boasting a loaded defense and offense, and they’re hosting a Cowboys team that may be a bit demoralized at the moment, following Micah Parsons’ departure from the team. Without Parsons, I’m not sure if the Cowboys will be able to generate much pressure at all with Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata as the offensive tackles. Tyler Steen, the Eagles’ right guard, might be the weakest link, but I think he’ll perform just fine.

Eagles wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown had been dealing with nagging injuries, but they’re good to go. As for the Cowboys, I really worry about their rushing attack, which consists of Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. Jaydon Blue is a promising prospect, but he’s currently dealing with an ankle sprain.

This Cowboys offensive line also has a bit of a tall task against this Eagles’ pass rush.

The Eagles will win this game.

George Pickens 50+ Receiving Yards (-142)

I know I picked the Eagles to win, but this could very well turn into a game where the Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott are forced to throw plenty due to their unexciting run game and the Eagles being out in front. Prescott is the type of quarterback who wants to throw the ball deep.

In 2023, when Prescott last played a full season, he attempted 73 passes that sailed 20+ yards through the air. That was fifth-most in the NFL. Last season, George Pickens had 900 receiving yards with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and over 57% of his yards came on passes that traveled 20+ yards. This is going to be a fun connection throughout the year.

Pickens could have 50 yards on one play.

Dak Prescott Over 245.5 Passing Yards (-113)

Through eight games last season, Dak Prescott threw for 246+ passing yards in just three games. He did come close in another, though, with 243 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Prescott didn’t play the Eagles, but his best passing yardage games came against a Baltimore Ravens defense, which, in the early portion of 2024, couldn’t defend anything through the air, and in two losses - a 20-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and an abysmal 44-19 loss at home to the New Orleans Saints. So, he went over this line in two games where he lost and another, a win over Pittsburgh, which required a 14-0 fourth quarter.

The point is that the Cowboys will trail early and often in this game, and they have a poor rushing attack. Prescott could easily reach 35+ passing attempts (which he did in 50% of his games last season). If he does, based on his 2024 yards per attempt of 6.9, he’ll get there. But also remember that in 2023, he averaged 7.7 yards per attempt and now has a legitimate deep threat option in Pickens.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see a line from Prescott with around 280 yards, one touchdown and one interception, or something of that sort.

Parlay Odds: +222
