This week’s Thursday Night Football contest between the Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills is special not only because it is the first game played in Buffalo’s new stadium. It is also the first of four matchups on the Week 2 slate between teams that each scored 30+ points a week ago, and the projected total of 54.5 points is three points higher than the second-highest game. That should mean fireworks with plenty of opportunities for players to cross the goal line. Here are our top NFL Thursday Night Football TD scorer picks for Lions vs. Bills.

DJ Moore First Touchdown Scorer (+1000)

You know Buffalo is going to be aggressive early and look for the first points of the game to set off a jacked-up home crowd in the new stadium, and what better person to score than the Bills’ prized offseason acquisition.

Not only did DJ Moore haul in Josh Allen’s first touchdown pass of the season last week (a 43-yard strike), he was also pivotal when he wasn’t catching the ball, like drawing key defensive pass interference penalties.

Allen’s 12.2 air yards per attempt were his most since 2023, following a year where the Bills were a bottom-10 team in average depth of target (aDOT).

Detroit is likely to blitz more than the Texans did to avoid Allen’s downfield prowess, but that should be just fine for Moore, whose 13 end-zone targets in 2025 were tied for the seventh-most among wide receivers. Moore also looked like he didn’t miss a beat from the end of last season, when he caught five touchdowns in the final seven games.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+100)

Masking the fact that the Bills scored 36 points on the Texans (their most allowed in a game since 2023 Week 16) was the new-look Jim Leonhard defense’s inability to stop a nosebleed. Nico Collins torched the Bills’ secondary for a 7/75/1 stat line, and St. Brown should do similar damage after a 10-catch and two-touchdown performance last week.

St. Brown was a beast on the road last season, averaging 11 targets per game and recording 13, 8 and 11 receptions in his final three road games.

Dalton Kincaid Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+180)

It has only been one game under head coach Joe Brady, but it certainly appears that Dalton Kincaid will be a much bigger focal point of the offense this year than he was in 2025.

Kincaid is coming off a season where he had a 38.6% snap share and 45.7% route participation. But last week, those numbers spiked to an 80.8% snap share and 68.8% route participation.

The Bills tight end not only caught five of his six targets, but Allen was looking for him deep (130 air yards). After leading the team with seven touchdown receptions last year (seven), Kincaid has a great chance to score against a depleted Lions secondary.

It will be interesting to see how Detroit plans to slow the Bills down after its defense was on the field for 86 plays. But I have no regrets doubling down on the Bills’ passing attack after the Lions allowed Tyler Shough to become the third Saints quarterback ever to throw for 400+ yards in a game.
