The NFL is finally back, and we have some great matchups in the first week of the season. The premier matchups this Sunday are in the NFC East, with the Commanders taking on the Eagles and the Cowboys facing the Giants to cap off the slate. I have three plays for the Sunday slate. Tyler Warren More Than 4.5 Receptions
Shane Steichen wants to get the ball to Tyler Warren. The Colts recently released their first unofficial depth chart, and they are starting Alec Pierce and Keenan Allen, with Josh Downs in the slot. Tyler Warren led the team last year with 112 targets, while Michael Pittman Jr. trailed him by one target. Downs had 88 targets, and Pierce had 84 targets.
The Colts are counting on Pierce to step into a bigger workload, but he is dealing with a lingering ankle injury heading into the season. He is expected to play in the season opener, but he is not 100%. Warren should dominate targets, much like he did in 2025.
The Ravens finished 30th in the league in passing yards allowed at a clip of 247.9 per game. The secondary was ravaged by injuries in 2025, so it should improve in 2026, but by how much?
New Ravens head coach Jesse Minter was the Chargers' defensive coordinator last season. They allowed the fifth-fewest passing yards per game (179.9). The Chargers utilized zone coverage on 80.7% of snaps, which should leave room for Warren to work underneath, as Baltimore attempts to limit the big play from Pierce.
I am not sure how Daniel Jones will perform in his first game back from injury, but he should look Warren's way a lot.
Jaylen Warren More Than 10.5 Rushing Attempts
Jaylen Warren is listed as the No. 1 RB on the Steelers' depth chart, ahead of Rico Dowdle. Warren dominated the backfield attempts last season, with 211 to Kenny Gainwell's 114. Dowdle had 236 attempts in Carolina, and eventually stole the starting job away from Chuba Hubbard. He has made it a habit to steal starting jobs, but it does not always happen in the first week.
Dowdle only had three rushing attempts in Week 1 last season with the Panthers, and totaled 28 in the first four weeks. He had 53 combined carries in Weeks 5 and 6. Warren's job is not safe, but he should get the bulk of the workload this week.
Warren recorded double-digit attempts in 15 out of 16 games last season, and he cleared this number in 11 out of 16 games. He was also extremely efficient with the ball in his hands, ranking in the top 10 in missed tackle rate, yards after contact per attempt, yards per route run and first downs per route run. Warren ranked 12th in rushing success rate. The Steelers should give him the ball early and often against the Falcons.
DJ Moore More Than 3.5 Receptions
DJ Moore landed in Buffalo after a rough season in Chicago. He is the No. 1 WR for Josh Allen and the explosive Bills offense this season, and is competing for targets with Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid. The Bills should remain one of the heaviest rushing offenses (49.84% in 2025), but Moore is the clear receiving option.
Joe Brady took over as head coach of the Bills and was Moore's offensive coordinator in 2020 and 2021 in Carolina. Moore had 118 and 163 targets in those two seasons, while only playing 15 games in 2020. Expect Moore to be Allen's go-to option in this offense, which has not had a true No. 1 WR receiver since Stefon Diggs.
