After Week 1, we’ve already learned so much about many teams. While there will be some overreaction after Week 1, some of what we saw will continue throughout the season. That said, here’s a look at a couple of early NFL Week 2 picks.

Early NFL Week 2 Picks

Green Bay Packers vs. New York Jets
The New York Jets looked like a competent NFL team in their win against the Tennessee Titans last week. The Jets earned a 23-10 win and really didn’t show many weaknesses in that game.
Geno Smith is, by far, the best quarterback New York has had in a decade. Additionally, the pass protection was just as good. Additionally, Breece Hall added over 100 yards on the ground, and Garret Wilson hauled in six receptions.
On the other hand, the Packers completely fell apart in the second half, losing 39-22 to the Carson Wentz-led Vikings. While Love earned two touchdowns and 387 passing yards, he also went 21-of-42 with an interception. The pass protection was not up to par. If anything, getting to the quarterback was the Jets’ biggest weakness against Tennessee. If Green Bay performs badly in pass protection, the Jets can perform much better in Week 2.
Plus, the Packers struggled in the secondary and still allowed over 100 yards on the ground.
The Jets have been a bottom-of-the-barrel team over the last decade. But times have changed. Give me the Jets at +4.5.

New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens
Tyler Shough finished Week 1 against the Detroit Lions with 410 passing yards and three touchdowns on 35-of-56 passing. He also threw two interceptions and started the first half poorly. Ultimately, it won’t get much easier against a Ravens secondary that played lights-out in their win over the Colts. Baltimore’s run defense looked like it needed help, but the secondary was easily the strength of Baltimore’s defense.
Meanwhile, the Saints allowed the Lions to score 31 points on 369 yards of total offense. They allowed 5.1 yards per play and gave up 165 rushing yards. With Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, expect the Ravens to run all over the Saints.
That said, the spread could drop a little if Zay Flowers is ruled out. The Ravens could be down multiple wide receivers for this game. However, it sounds like Flowers could’ve finished last week’s game if it were a bigger matchup, so I wouldn’t be too worried. Either way, Baltimore’s running game will give the Saints some fits.
