Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers
The Buccaneers are rolling with Jalon Daniels for another week. He has had some good moments under center during his rookie season. However, the team has only won one game since he took over.
While every game has been close and tight, the offense has scored no more than 19 points in every loss behind Daniels. The team is relying heavily on its defense to keep them afloat while Daniels is the quarterback.
Meanwhile, the Panthers have scored 146 points through five games. In comparison, the Buccaneers have added just 119 points in six games this season. Carolina has also won three of its last four games, including wins over the Lions and Eagles with scores of 25+ points in each.
It’s hard to imagine the Buccaneers keeping up with the Panthers on offense, especially on the road. Carolina could struggle to run the football a bit, but the passing game shouldn’t have much trouble.
I’ll take the Panthers -3.5 in this one. After all, the Buccaneers are 1-5 on the season.
Pick: Panthers -3.5 (-115)
Denver Broncos vs. Arizona Cardinals
The Denver Broncos opened as a 7.5-point road favorite against the Arizona Cardinals. However, that number has since dropped to -4.5.
Yes, the Cardinals are 0-2 at home. Yes, they’re 2-4 on the season. However, Arizona is coming off a massive road win over the Los Angeles Rams and showed some promise last week.
The offense still had to settle for field goals, despite getting into Los Angeles territory almost every drive. The touchdowns will come. They’ve got too many weapons to struggle consistently. It starts with Trey McBride, who has 361 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Arizona has three legitimate and capable running backs, including Bam Knight, who played very well against the Rams last week.
Given how the Broncos have played offensively with Bo Nix under center, I’m on the Arizona wagon. The Cardinals are +4.5 at home and have unequivocally played better offensively throughout the season. Jeremiyah Love might even return from injury this week to help the Cardinals’ depth.
Let’s back the Cardinals +4.5.
Pick: Cardinals +4.5 (-110)
