We have four games on Friday’s NHL slate, including an early puck drop in Sweden between Nashville and Pittsburgh. Let’s look ahead to tonight’s three domestic matchups to find the best bet to place in each contest.
Last week, my NHL Best Bets, Odds, & Picks: Friday (11/7) settled 2-1, making it another profitable night on the ice. The New York Islanders’ moneyline was the only loss on the card, with the Islanders dropping a home game 5-2 to the Minnesota Wild. Both goal total unders won.
Let’s jump right into tonight’s action. Follow me on X @Matt_MacKay_ for more NHL analysis and free picks.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Carolina Hurricanes
The Canucks are massive road underdogs in Raleigh tonight against the Hurricanes. Vancouver’s moneyline is +215 odds, while the goal total is set to 6.5.
Vancouver’s -10 goal differential and two-game losing streak doesn’t inspire much confidence backing them against one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
Pyotr Kochetkov is confirmed in the net for Carolina. The Hurricanes’ goaltender has a stout 1.47 GAA and a 2-0 record in 2025, while Vancouver will likely play Kevin Lankinen. Lankinen’s 3.57 GAA and 3-5-1 record don’t bode well against Carolina’s third-ranked scoring offense.
Vancouver won’t be lighting the lamp much tonight. Let’s fade the Canucks and bet the under on their 2.5 goal total.
Pick: Vancouver Canucks Total Goals – Under 2.5 (-134)
Philadelphia Flyers vs. St. Louis Blues
We’re heading to the Enterprise Center for tonight’s interconference tilt between the Flyers and Blues. St. Louis has won three of its last five games, while Philadelphia is coming off back-to-back losses against Ottawa and Edmonton.
We’ll see Samuel Ersson and Jordan Binnington in the net for their respective teams. Ersson benefits from the Flyers’ defense, which has held opponents to the second-lowest goal per game total (2.56) through the first quarter of the NHL season.
The Blues are the total opposite, allowing 3.76 goals per game on average. This is the second-highest mark in the league right now. St. Louis also has a bottom-ten scoring offense, which creates value on the Flyers as underdogs.
Let’s bet on Philadelphia to win outright at +116 odds on the moneyline.
Pick: Philadelphia Flyers Moneyline (+116)
New York Islanders vs. Utah Mammoth
Friday’s late night game pits the New York Islanders against the Utah Mammoth. New York is playing the second half of a back-to-back tonight, while Utah had a night off following a 5-2 win at home over Buffalo on Wednesday.
The Mammoth have had a strong start to the season, going 10-7. However, Utah has gone 1-3 SU in its last four games played.
New York is riding a three-game winning streak, recording every victory on the road against quality opponents like the Rangers, Devils, and Golden Knights. Tonight, we’ll see goaltenders David Rittich against Karel Vejmelka.
Rittich has been porous for the Islanders with a 3.41 GAA. Vejmelka has logged double the number of starts, alternating between good and bad performances.
Utah has the rest advantage and the better goaltender. However, New York is riding a heater right now and has been getting production from all three of their top lines.
Let’s lay the juice and bet on the Islanders to cover the puck line as an underdog at +1.5.
Pick: New York Islanders +1.5 (-142)
