The Stars are looking to rebound after a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Rangers on Tuesday. This was their third straight loss. Dallas will have a favorable matchup tonight against one of the worst defenses in the league. They take on Ottawa, who is currently 30th in overall defense (3.43 GAA) and 29th on the penalty kill (74.69%).

I'll lock in Miro Heiskanen, who is on the ice for nearly half the game at 24:55 TOI/G. The d-man runs point on the top power play, where 12 (2G, 10A) of his 34 points (7G, 27A) have come. Heiskanen has racked up seven points in nine games since returning from injury (3G, 4A). This includes a current three-game point streak.
Don't look now, but the Capitals are finally finding their footing offensively. Although it hasn't translated to wins over Washington's current 3-5-2 run, they're averaging 3.2 goals per game. That's up from their season average of just 2.5 goals per contest (30th). This offensive surge has mainly come from the top line, which, of course, features Alex Ovechkin. Centering for “The Great Eight” is Dylan Strome, who's second on the team in scoring with 39 points (21G, 18A). The centerman has 11 points (5G, 6A) over his last nine games, which includes a run of scoring in four of his last five games. The Caps take on a Bolts squad that's just 25th defensively (3.19 GAA).
Finally, let's head to St. Louis, where the Blues gear up to host the Islanders. Brock Nelson racked up two points (1G, 1A) in their recent 5-4 overtime win against the Penguins. He now has seven points (3G, 4A) in six games this month. The centerman has been extremely confident, constantly ripping pucks on-net. Over the six games this month, Nelson has 25 SOG (4.2 SOG/G). In his last nine games, Nelson has registered at least three SOGs eight times while exceeding three SOGs on four occasions. The Isles take on a Blues side that has allowed the fourth-most 5-on-5 shots on goal this season (1,424). I expect Nelson to be active offensively tonight, and I think four SOG is very attainable.
