The Wild ends their season at home tonight, where they'll host the Kraken. Seattle is not finishing the season on a high note, losing four straight games (0-4-0) while being outscored 14-6. Since their defense has dropped off down the stretch, I'll ride with Kirill Kaprizov to add an assist tonight.
The star winger is putting together another monster season, racking up 95 points (11th in the league), with 50 of those being assists. Kaprizov had assists in two straight games, and at least one helper in seven of his last 11 games. The Wild have owned the Kraken this season, going 2-0-0. Specifically, Kaprizov has excelled against their Western Conference foe, registering four points (2G, 2A) over the two games. Look for the first-line winger to add another apple to close this season.
According to the betting markets, it appears that Nathan MacKinnon will be collecting his first career Hart Trophy this season. Per our BettingPros odds comparison tool, the current price for MacKinnon to win league MVP is -275.
I'll play the Avalanche’s star centerman to amass at least five SOG as they host the Oilers for their season finale. For starters, Edmonton's coming in on the second night of a back-to-back, where they were hammered 5-2 by Arizona last night. It's always worth factoring in potentially tired legs and MacKinnon is a guy who will make fatigued players pay simply due to his outrageous acceleration and speed.
The 28-year-old leads the league in shots on goal this season with 404. That's 4.99 SOG per game, which is exactly what we need for this prop to cash. MacKinnon has exceeded this SOG threshold in eight of his last 12 games, and he finished with four SOG in the other four games. This game has no playoff implications, which leads me to believe Colorado's skaters will be feeding MacKinnon with scoring chances so he can bolster his Hart resume.
The third seed in the Pacific Division is still up for grabs, as the Golden Knights (98 points) and Kings (97 points) are fighting for the right to take on the Oilers (2nd in Pacific with 104 points) in the first round. Vegas hosts Anaheim tonight, while Los Angeles hosts Chicago.
Shea Theodore has been a cornerstone of my PrizePicks Power Plays and DFS lineups since he returned from injury back in February. The veteran d-man has played in just 46 games, but he's amassed 41 points (5G, 36A). Despite playing only half of a season, Theodore is the Golden Knights' leading scorer among his fellow defensemen.
Theodore is averaging 22:04 TOI/G this season, and they'll want him out there as much as possible to try and score on arguably the worst defense in the league. Anaheim is 31st in the league in both overall defense (3.44 GAA) and on the penalty kill (72.48%) and the Ducks have closed the season on a horrid 3-14-2 run, where they're conceding 4.1 goals per game over the 19-game stretch. Look for Theodore to have his hand in a goal against this lousy Anaheim squad.
