Best NHL PrizePicks Player Projections
This is more of a bet on Nylander than Lee, but the latter has been shooting more of late. The Islanders forward has two or three shots in four of his last five games. We’re looking for two, but three would make this a steal of a line. New York allows the second-most shots per game, and Toronto is seventh in shots taken per. Nylander typically drives that number even higher against teams like the Islanders. He has five or more shots in 18 games this season, and he is projected to hit that number again today.

Adam Fox Over 1.5 Blocked Shots
The Rangers average 16 blocked shots per game, which is a good number against the Avalanche, against whom teams average around 17. Fox hasn’t exactly been a blocked shots machine this season, but he is projected to get 2.17 tonight in what should be a tight battle between two contending teams. Coming off a break with fresh legs, expect both defenses to step up and keep this one low-scoring, and Fox will be a big part of that.
Auston Matthews is a prolific scorer, and I’m tempted to take his over 0.5 goals in place of this one. However, with a shots machine like Matthews running into a shots-allowed machine like the Islanders, I don’t think he’ll be able to resist firing on goal all night long. He only has an assist in 16 of 46 games this season and only managed three in the month of January. Comparatively, he has a goal in 24 this year. While unders can feel hairy on PrizePicks, this feels like the right play, and it’s backed up by the projections.
