We’re back to a three-game slate with some of my favorites to bet on. Unfortunately, they’re playing against some of my least favorites, so it should be an interesting night.

Best NHL PrizePicks Player Projections
Hedman has only cleared this number in 14 of 48 games this season, and the Rangers allow the third-fewest shots per game to opposing defensemen at 7.19. I’ve tracked this for prop purposes, and it is typically Tampa Bay’s second line on defense (Mikhail Sergachev and Erik Cernak) that gets the shot opportunities. On paper, this matchup looks like a slugfest, and even if it breaks open, the Rangers are likely to get more shots on goal thanks to their stellar defense.

Jonas Brodin More Than 1.5 Blocked Shots
At one point this year, Brodin’s line was sitting at 2.5 blocks, so seeing it at 1.5 now seems like a prop worth attacking. The 30-year-old defenseman has had two or more blocks in 21 of the 32 games he has played, including the last time these two teams met in early December. While the Blackhawks are awful and lacking firepower without Connor Bedard, it still feels like Brodin will have a few opportunities for blocks tonight.
I covered this in my player props article today, but the primary stat to know is that Chicago gives up oodles of opportunities to opposing defensemen. (The position is +114 in plus/minus against them.) I think Kirill Kaprizov could have a big night, and chances are good Faber will be on the passing side of one of those.
