NHL Same Game Parlay: Tuesday (10/15)

NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions

We’re back with another NHL SGP for Tuesday’s nine-game slate. Last week, our first NHL SGP of the 2024-25 season came down to the final leg, losing due to Jordan Eberle only recording 1 shot on goal, while missing both of his other shot attempts.

Eberle needed 2+ shots on goal to cash out our +111 SGP, which miraculously saw Seattle +1.5 hit with St. Louis missing an empty-netter in a 3-2 win for the Blues. The under 8.5 total goals cleared with ease thanks to two scoreless periods.

In this article, I’ll provide an NHL SGP to tail on Tuesday’s slate, targeting the first game between the Vancouver Canucks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more NHL free bets and weekly analysis.

Tuesday's NHL SGP: Vancouver Canucks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

    (Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

    Vancouver Canucks (+114) vs. Tampa Bay Lightning (-137) | O/U 6.5 (-102/-120)

    Tampa Bay Moneyline (-137)

We’re backing Tampa Bay’s moneyline odds at home against Vancouver. The Canucks have been part of some wild games, with huge momentum swings, losing both games played in overtime. Arturs Silovs is back in the crease for Vancouver after surrendering six goals on 26 shots faced against Calgary in their season-opener.

Silovs has a tough test ahead of him, facing a lethal top-line for Tampa Bay comprised of Jake Guentzel, Nikita Kucherov, and Brayden Point. The Lightning just handled Carolina 4-1, but for some reason, oddsmakers are only valuing them at -137 odds on the moneyline at home against Vancouver.

Tampa Bay goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy is starting as well, after giving up only one goal to the Hurricanes, so let’s back the Lightning at home off of rest against a Canucks team that has yet to finish a game, despite their talent on offense.

    Brayden Point 1+ Points (-290)

Brayden Point centers the top attack line and powerplay unit for the Lightning, so he’ll get plenty of good looks against Silovs on Tuesday night. Point scored a powerplay goal to get the Lightning on the board against Carolina, finishing with one shot on goal. He’s surrounded by elite playmakers though, so he’ll be included as the first of two Lightning players in our SGP to record 1+ points against Vancouver.

    Nikita Kucherov 1+ Points (-590)

Nikita Kucherov ripped a hat-trick against a good Hurricanes defense and goaltender Frederik Andersen, so Silovs certainly doesn’t strike fear into his play. Kucherov remains one of the best forwards in the league and recorded six shots on goal, scoring all three of his goals in the final nine minutes of the game against Carolina, which included a pair of empty-netters. We’re only asking for an assist or a goal from Kucherov in this spot, so let’s insert him to push our SGP into plus odds against the Canucks at home on Tuesday night.

    SGP (+102)

Tampa Bay’s offense goes through Point and Kucherov on the first-line attack, which is why we’ve added them as the second and third-leg of our SGP to each record 1+ points against a struggling goaltender like Arturs Silovs. Vancouver has been competitive, but lost both games in overtime. They may not be as lucky tonight facing the Lightning, who are an experienced team with a strong core of talent and a quality netminder.

+102 is a nice way to enjoy what should be a dominant performance from Tampa Bay at home against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.
