For those of us stateside, Sunday's Gold Medal showdown between Team USA and Canada will be the biggest game in more than 15 years. You have to go back to Vancouver in 2010, when Sidney Crosby ripped our hearts out with his legendary 'golden goal' in overtime to secure Olympic Gold for the Canadians over the United States in a 3-2 contest.
Sunday's Gold Medal game, which is set for 8:10 a.m. ET, has the rival nations at pick’em pricing from a betting perspective. Over at DraftKings Sportsbook, Canada is -120, while the United States comes back at +100.
If your patriotism and national pride aren't enough to get you hyped for this one, then I've got you covered with a couple of player props to help you get some skin in the game. Here are my top player Olympic Winter Games player props for Team USA versus Canada on Sunday.

Quinn Hughes 1+ Assist (-130)
The United States' Quinn Hughes was the hero in their quarter-final victory over Sweden, burying the game-winning goal in the 2-1 overtime period. He's now seventh in the tournament in points (seven), and his six assists are third behind only Connor McDavid (11) and Lucas Raymond (eight).
There's no doubt that Hughes is the top offensive defenseman for Team USA, and I'll gladly lay the -130 vig that he logs another helper on Sunday. He's in a great position to do so, playing on the first defensive pairing with Charlie McAvoy, as well as walking the blue line on the main power-play group. Back home in the NHL, Hughes' 52 assists are the fifth-most in the league. He's riding a 10-game assist streak in the NHL and has at least one apple in all five Olympic games in 2026.
Tage Thompson Anytime Goal Scorer (+360)
The biggest question mark in this Gold Medal matchup is Canada’s goaltending and defense. The Canadians have conceded three power-play goals in 11 tries, making their 72.7% penalty-killing unit the eighth-best out of 12 Olympic teams. Jordan Binnington, who has an abysmal .864 SV% (58th) in the NHL, is the clear weak link on the entire sheet of ice Sunday.
Sure, "Big Game Binner" has stepped up in huge moments in the past, but it's lazy work to just assume he'll shut down the high-powered Team USA on Sunday. If anyone is going to falter, it's probably going to be Binnington. This is the main reason why I'm isolating Team USA players with my props for Sunday's game. I think there's excellent value considering Binnington's lousy underlying numbers.
I'll play Tage Thompson to score at +360 odds. Thompson has three tucks this tournament, two of which have come on the power play. There's a good chance we can cash both of these props on one possession, with a Hughes-to-Thompson scoring effort on the man advantage. Thompson's a bona fide goal scorer, as his 30 goals in the NHL are the eighth-most in the league. He has shown up in the Olympics. At +360 odds, it's worth a rip on Thompson and his elite shot to find the back of the net.
