Coming into this week with a record of 5-6, things are looking bleak for the Atlanta Falcons and a win here could very well save their season. The task will be a tall one, however, as the Bucs have followed up a two-game slide with two straight wins and are getting healthy at the right time of the season.
Let’s take a closer look at this AFC South matchup and see where the value lies.
- Opening Line: Falcons +10, O/U 50
- Current Line: Falcons +11, O/U 50.5
- Last meeting: September 19, 2021, Falcons 25, Buccaneers 48
If the playoffs started now, the Atlanta Falcons would firmly be in them which is surprising to many forecasting this team preseason. Picking up a win against the Jaguars last week, the Falcons had lost three of four prior and have hovered around .500 for most of the season.
For the Bucs, December means the time is now to turn on the gas as the reigning Super Bowl champs are in a race with the Packers and Rams for the top spot in the NFC. Heading into Sunday, they’re #1 in the league in passing offense and rushing defense, as both units lead the way for a team looking to repeat.
- Bucs are 1-6 ATS in the role of away favorite
- Under is 5-1-1 in Bucs L7 Week 13 games
- Falcons are 1-5 ATS in L6 following a win
While the Falcons have hovered around relevancy for weeks, they still rank dead last in the league in points allowed per game(27.5), and second to last in rushing yards at 85. In total, their offense ranks #26 in the league in just 310.5 yards per game, as they’ve struggled to get any kind of consistency on a week-to-week basis.
In this one, I like for the Bucs to smell the blood in the water early and run away with this one before it’s all said and done.
Pick: Buccaneers -11
