Sunday will bring us the third head-to-head matchup for Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes in the postseason, and it should be a great one. Two years ago, these teams met in the Divisional Round as Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs down the field with 13 seconds left to win in dramatic fashion.
Meanwhile, the Lions are attempting to reach their first NFC Championship game since 1991.
Let's take a look at our top player prop bets for this playoff Sunday, featuring the Buccaneers at the Lions and the Chiefs at the Bills.

With Mike Evans having so much success, teams forget how good Chris Godwin is for this team. After a bit of a slow start to the season, Godwin had a big month of December as he finished with 83 Receptions and 1000+ yards receiving once again. Last week, he was able to haul in a TD pass in the big win against the Eagles. The Lions’ defense has struggled this season and just had WR Puka Nacua explode against them last week. Godwin has a similar physique and playing style to Nacua, so it could be his turn this week. I expect the Lions to give Mike Evans extra attention, leaving Godwin with 1-on-1 matchups throughout this game. Look for Baker to get some easy completions to Godwin early to get into a rhythm and he’ll be on his way to clearing this over.
Rachaad White had a breakout year for the Bucs, totaling 990 Rushing Yards and 64 Receptions for 549 Receiving Yards. He’s been one of the top receiving backs in 2023, and the Bucs may need him to contribute here again to fend off the Lions. White wasn’t asked to do much in the passing game in last week’s rout of the Eagles, but this week will have a different feeling. Now, they’ll go on the road to a hostile environment in Detroit instead of playing on their home field. In addition, the Lions can put up points in a hurry with a potent, balanced offense. QB Baker Mayfield will need to check down to White throughout the game to avoid negative plays, and I believe White can find success after the catch against a Detroit defense giving up a lot of points and yards. Look for the Bucs to lean on White in a crucial game.
When we think of these teams and QBs facing off, we immediately think of a shootout and lots of offense. To be fair, the last two playoff matchups between these teams have seen over 62 points scored in both games. However, these teams faced off in Kansas City in December 2023, where we saw a final score of 20-17, and neither of the teams reached 400 total yards of offense. With that being said, we’re not going to overthink this one and go with Allen over 225.5 passing yards. He’s hit this number in 5 of the past 8 games with two of the unders being last week’s win over Pittsburgh and their blowout win against the Cowboys in December, where Allen attempted only 15 passes. Take Allen over 225.5 passing yards with confidence, as these teams can run the score up quickly.
