We have a full 10-game slate in the association tonight, and certainly no shortage of options to explore. Let's not waste any more time and jump right into some of our favorite picks for February 10.
Monday’s Top 5 NBA Picks
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Brooklyn Nets -3.5 (-108)
The Brooklyn Nets are 4-1 over their last five games, including two wins in three games played at the Barclays Center. Whereas the Hornets have two wins in the last eleven games played. Charlotte also has only two wins in their last 10 games played on the road.
Brooklyn owns the lowest defensive rating in the NBA in the last five games and is conceding a mere 96.6 points over that span. The Hornets have lost by at least 3.5 points or more in all eight of their prior losses.
The Nets have no reason to be playing this good, but such is life. As for Charlotte, the team continues to slide down the standings in hopes of a high draft pick. While there may not be a lot to play for in this contest, the Nets appear to be the more focused team right now and should be able to cover 3.5 points in a win.
Timberwolves at Cavaliers – Under 228 Total Points (-110)
This will be the fourth game in six nights for Minnesota. However, for this contest, the Timberwolves may be once again without their star contributor, Anthony Edwards, due to a hip injury. Minnesota is already without the services of Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. This means points could be at a premium for the Timberwolves.
Minnesota has played eight games as the away underdog on the season, covering in four of those contests. Without Edwards, the Timberwolves are averaging 108.5 points in two games. Cleveland is only allowing 109.7 points when playing at home this season.
While the Timberwolves may be without offensive firepower this evening, the team will have to rely heavily on the defense to keep this contest close. Minnesota is only allowing 107.8 points when playing on the road this season. In the two games where Edwards was not available for the Timberwolves this season, the team has conceded an average of 101.5 points.
Kings Moneyline (-120)
The bad seems to keep piling up for the Dallas Mavericks. Anthony Davis will not only miss this contest due to a left abductor strain, his return for the season is in question. PJ Washington is also listed as questionable for this game, possibly leaving the Mavericks with very few scoring options tonight.
After a two-game losing skid, Sacramento was able to pick up the pieces against the Pelicans on Saturday on their home court. The Kings have won 14 of the 22 games when playing at home as a favorite, and win 52% of their contests after a win.
When these two teams last matched up on December 30 at the Golden One Center, Sacramento bested the Mavericks by 10 points. Dallas is possibly going to be without two major pieces in the starting lineup and be devoid of size aside from Daniel Gafford. This appears to be a great spot for the Kings to pick up the win.
Milwaukee Bucks Under 112.5 Team Total Points (-115)
As we continue to pounce on situations where teams will be without major offensive weapons, the Bucks will not have the services of Giannis Antetokounmpo for this contest. Milwaukee played just last night as well, meaning those who will be on the floor for the Bucks may be running with some heavy legs.
Milwaukee has played 10 games this season without the "Greek Freak", and in those contests, the team is averaging 111 points. Golden State is allowing 111.9 points on the season, and 111.3 when playing at home. The Bucks have played nine games in a back-to-back situation and scored an average of 111.1 points.
Golden State has held their opponent to 113 points or fewer in five of their last 10 games. The Warriors are ranked 10th on the season in regards to defensive rating while holding the opposition to the 11th-lowest field-goal percentage.
Luka Doncic Over 26.5 Points (-120)
Luka Doncic is currently listed as a game-time decision. However, we feel the recently acquired superstar makes his debut as a Laker this evening. The Utah Jazz make for the perfect opponent after an extended absence, as they are tied for the worst defensive rating in the league.
The Jazz allow 119.1 points per game, third-most in the league. Utah also ranks fourth in most three-pointers allowed, fifth in opposing field-goal percentage, and second in points allowed off of the fast break.
Luka is averaging 28.1 points on the season and scored at least 27 points or more in five of eight games before his injury. The Lakers’ newest addition to the team will most likely look to make an instant impact in Los Angeles. The opponent only adds to the opportunity to clear 26.5 points.
Enjoy the games throughout the day, and best of luck with your picks!
