We have a total of eight games on the NBA slate for Saturday, with one afternoon game and seven evening contests. We’ll focus on the evening slate. Unfortunately, there are no nationally televised games. The NBA likely figured it would be futile to go up against NFL Divisional Round playoff games.
Let’s get started with today’s NBA best bets.

Saturday’s Best NBA Bets
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook | All wagers are for 1 unit
Cleveland Cavaliers (-142) at Atlanta Hawks (+120) | O/U 232 (-110/-110)
The Cavaliers (24-15) open a four-game road trip in Atlanta against the Hawks (18-23). Cleveland has rattled off six consecutive victories, including a 135-95 rout of the Bucks on Wednesday night at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Not only are the Cavs winning, but they’re 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past six games overall.
These teams faced each other in Cleveland on Dec. 16, and the Cavs took care of the Hawks by a 127-119 score to cover a 4.5-point number as the Over (236) connected. The Cavs also posted a 128-105 win on Nov. 28 in Cleveland, covering another 4.5-point number. Cleveland has posted three straight in the series, and four of the past five battles overall.
The Hawks have won three in a row, the team’s longest streak since ripping off four straight wins from Oct. 29-Nov. 4. Atlanta has also cashed the Under in each of the past five games, going for 109 or fewer points in each of the outings.
The Cavs have hit the Under at a 4-0-1 clip in the past five games at most shops, too. In addition to playing the Cavs, go with the Under in a same-game parlay opportunity.
Bets: Cavaliers -2.5 (-114) and Under 232 (-110)
San Antonio Spurs (+118) at Washington Wizards (-136) | O/U 241 (-112/-108)
The Spurs (7-34) and Wizards (7-33) meet in the nation’s capital in an ugly game on paper. But this should be an exciting game, especially for bettors.
San Antonio suffered a 124-120 loss in Charlotte against the Hornets on Friday, then hopped a charter plane with an arrival at Washington-Dulles Airport of 11:52 p.m. ET. That’s a quick turnaround for the Spurs, who likely didn’t get to the team hotel until well after 1 a.m. ET.
While the Wizards topped Atlanta last Saturday by a 127-99 score, the wins have been hard to come by. But the Wizards are a respectable 3-1-1 ATS in the past five games, and Washington swept the regular-season series last season against San Antonio.
As far as the Spurs are concerned, they’re 0-5 straight up (SU) and 1-4 ATS in five games this season when playing on no rest. In addition, the Over has cashed in four of those five games when playing the second end of a back-to-back. Like above, we’ll go with a double dip on this game, too.
Bet: Wizards -2.5 (-110) and Over 241 (-112)
Oklahoma City Thunder (+124) at Minnesota Timberwolves (-146) | O/U 227.5 (-110/-110)
In the 8 p.m. ET window, the Thunder heads to the Twin Cities looking to strike down the Wolves. OKC has dropped two of the past three games, while also going 1-2 ATS. These teams met in Oklahoma on Dec. 26, and the Thunder rolled past the Wolves 129-106 as a 2-point favorite as the Over (230.5) cashed.
In the Twin Cities, these teams met Nov. 28, and Minnesota posted a 106-103 win as a 2.5-point favorite as the Under (228.5) connected. Minnesota has won eight of the past 10 meetings in this series, while going 7-3 ATS. And the Under is 6-2 in the past eight in the series, too.
Minnesota streaks in with four straight victories, and a 5-1 ATS mark in the past six games overall. Look for the Timberwolves to get the job done in this surprisingly good matchup.
Bet: Timberwolves -3 (-110)
