The UFC resumes operations this Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with UFC 285, following a rough run of UFC Fight Night events to end February. The best plans can occasionally go awry, but it appears that Jon Jones’ long-awaited transition to heavyweight has finally happened and should be a great one. Although Ciryl Gane wasn’t everyone’s first choice for the former pound-for-pound champion’s first heavyweight opponent, this main event is still an intriguing contest.
Our attention to this piece turns elsewhere on the card, however, as we look at three PrizePicks fighter props. For those unfamiliar with PricePicks, it is a DFS-style website that requires at least two props to hit for you to get paid.
Let’s take a look at a three-banger I have cooked up with some of my top UFC 285 predictions.

UFC 285 PrizePicks Fighter Prop Bets & Picks
Odds courtesy of PrizePicks
Tabatha Ricci: 45.5 Significant Strikes (LESS) vs. Jessica Penne
This one is on the early prelims and one of the first fights of the night, featuring two strawweight fighters on opposite ends of their UFC careers. Both with significant strikes landed per minute clips of less than three, each of these fighters relies mostly on their ground game, and the fight metrics prove that.
For the favorite Penne, a takedown average of 3.95 per 15 minutes in the octagon will likely once again paint the picture for this fight. I expect her to take this one to the ground early and often, mostly avoiding striking exchanges.
Marc-Andre Barriault: 42.5 Significant Strikes (MORE) vs. Julian Marquez
When the odds for UFC 285 opened up, Marc-Andre Barriault was one of my favorite plays on the board. At 5.35 significant strikes landed per minute, I expect an onslaught from Barriault out of the gates. As far as Marquez is concerned, his most recent loss came at the hands of Gregory Rodrigues (TKO), a fellow teammate of Barriault and training partner for this fight.
Additionally, the striking coach Rodrigues has trained and will be in the corner for Barriault in this one, and I expect that to play a major impact. Add in the fact of a significant striking accuracy of 46% for Barriault coming into this fight, and I like for him to have his way on the feet and pick Marquez apart from the opening bell.
Valentina Shevchenko: 52.5 Significant Strikes (MORE) vs. Alexa Grasso
A massive favorite at -600, the total rounds for this fight is set at 4.5, pointing to a potentially long night for both fighters, but especially Grasso. Coming into this fight, Shevchenko is averaging 3.19 significant strikes landed per minute, which, even at four rounds, adds up to more than 60 significant strikes.
I expect this one to go long and for “Bullet” to largely pick her opponent apart throughout.
