Saturday's Best WNBA Picks & Bets: Valkyries vs. Lynx

Golden State Valkyries vs. Minnesota Lynx

The other game of the night is a bit more exciting, with Golden State heading to Minnesota to take on the Lynx. Minnesota sits as a near double-digit favorite with a total of 155 points.

Minnesota has been dominant, but they are 10-7 against the spread (ATS), on the winning side, but nothing impressive. The spread today is exactly where I'd expect it to be, with reasonably priced options. These are two of the best defenses in the league that will lead to a battle. The Valkyries have been a surprise so far this year, and I don't think it will stop tonight. They've won seven of their last nine games and have had a week off to prepare.

They will need to prepare for sure. The Lynx are hands down the best team in the league, and their offense is ruthless, with Napheesa Collier being the MVP front-runner. The Lynx have the highest percentage of points coming off turnovers, so the Valkyries will have to take care of the ball, which I'm confident they can do. Golden State is also one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the league, which allows them to secure plenty of second-chance looks and capitalize on one of the Lynx’s few weaknesses, their 10th-ranked defensive rebound rate.

Considering both teams are in the bottom four in the league in pace of play, I expect the lower possession rate to help Golden State cover the spread. It's hard going against the Lynx here, but I trust the Valkyries to keep it close with their time to prep and defensive prowess.

Pick: Golden State +10 (-115 at ESPN Bet)
