Atlanta Dream vs. Indiana Fever

Kelsey Mitchell (+600)

Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark lead the Indiana Fever in first-quarter scoring. Mitchell (4.9) is slightly behind Clark (5.5) in terms of scoring through the first 10 minutes of gameplay. Either of the two phenomenal scoring guards is capable of sinking the first basket.

The Indiana Fever face a tough matchup at home against a physical, high-scoring Atlanta team. The Dream will no doubt be blitzing Clark right from the tip, which could create a quick score for Mitchell. Indiana may also want to trigger an immediate pin-down set for Mitchell, where she can attack the rim. The Fever guard has scored the first basket in three contests this season.

Caitlin Clark (+750)

Caitlin Clark may be an obvious option to score the first basket in any contest the Fever are playing. Having said that, we aren't going to argue with such a high return on investment (ROI). Clark is not only the Fever’s main offensive option, but she will also have the ball in her hands immediately.

Clark has scored the initial basket for the Fever four times in 2026. She leads the Fever in first-quarter scoring, averaging 5.5 points through the first 10 minutes. Clark is predominantly going to receive the ball at the top of the three-point perimeter. This should create an opportunity for Clark to either drive to the basket or pull up for a mid-range jumper.

Aliyah Boston (+410) has also been a constant source of points in the first quarter. She is averaging 6.4 points on 68.4% from the field over the last five games through the first 10 minutes of gameplay. The Fever forward yields the lowest ROI, however. Because of that, she is seemingly the most favored option.

Allisha Gray (+850)

As for Atlanta, Allisha Gray makes for a fantastic option to score the first basket. The veteran guard leads the team in scoring and has made the opening basket in three contests this season.

The veteran guard is a focal point of the Atlanta offense due to her elite downhill acceleration, shooting prowess and the ability to slash through opponents’ defenses. Gray has a 25.4% usage rate and has been an early option for the Dream to quickly achieve a score.

The Dream guard is averaging 3.4 points through the first quarter over the last five games. Gray is a first-strike option who is often looked at too early due to high efficiency from both below and above the three-point line. Atlanta has won the tip-off in eight out of 13 games this season. If the Dream wins the tip tonight, they’re likely to go to their most efficient option immediately.
