Las Vegas Aces vs. Chicago Sky
Leg 1: Jackie Young 25+ Points + Rebounds + Assists (-500)
Jackie Young is coming off a strong 29-point performance, and faces a Sky team posing very little resistance in the backcourt. Young is knocking down nearly 49% of attempted shots, while making two three-pointers per contest. The guard for the Aces mostly benefits from a volume and minutes standpoint. Stewart hoists up 13.2 attempts per game, while being on the floor for 32.3 minutes.
The veteran guard is averaging 22 points over two games played against the Sky on the season. Young finished with 25+ points + rebounds and assists in each of the previous contests against Chicago. The guard for Las Vegas is on a sensational run through the last four games, exploding for over 25 points per contest over that span. Young has reached the 25+ threshold for points, rebounds, and assists in the two matchups against the Sky, and things are lining up for a third game in a row given the recent form.
Leg 2: H2H Points: Jackie Yoing vs. Kamilla Cardoso – Jackie Young (-280)
Jackie Young's ability to knock down three-pointers gives her a clear advantage in this H2H points matchup. Kamilla Cardoso is still on a minutes restriction, as the South Carolina alum works back from a right knee injury suffered against the Aces in late June. Cardoso was masterful against the Connecticut Sun on Thursday. However, Connecticut was without Brittney Griner and Aaliyah Edwards.
Young is averaging 25.5 points through the last four games, and it's possible that Cardoso may barely see 20 minutes on the floor under the restriction. Any sort of foul trouble, and it could be around 15 minutes of playing time. Young is a heavy favorite to score more points than Cardoso tonight, and rightfully so.
Leg 3: A'ja Wilson 20+ Points (-460)
We anticipate a good deal of scoring from the Aces in this contest. Omitting the most dominant scorer in the league for the last five years simply wouldn't make sense. Wilson is averaging a league-leading 26.4 points each game, while hitting 53.5% of attempts. The four-time MVP scores 27.8 points when playing on the road this season.
Wilson has totaled 20+ points or more in 9-of-10 road games. The veteran forward is currently on a streak of nine consecutive contests with 20 points or more. Oddsmakers have set this line at over 180 points. It's hard to envision Wilson not accounting for 20+ points in what is a contest that is expected to feature a strong amount of scoring.
Leg 4: H2H Rebounds: A'ja Wilson vs. Kamilla Cardoso – A’ja Wilson (-259)
A'ja Wilson returned to regular season action this week, and grabbed 24 boards in two games . The second half of the season is officially go time for the best of the best, and we anticipate Wilson having a lot to show going forward. Being aggressive on the offensive and defensive boards limits the possibility for transition baskets, and as badly armored as Chicago is at the moment, they can score in transition.
A'ja Wilson is pulling down 9.6 boards over the previous five road games for the Las Vegas Aces. Wilson finished with nine rebounds or more in 9-of-10 games. As previously stated, Kamilla Cardoso will be on a minutes restriction, and will more than likely only play around 20-25 minutes at best. Wilson is highly skilled at drawing fouls, and Cardoso averages 3.6 fouls per game. Not the best matchup for Cardoso by any means.
Leg 5: A'ja Wilson To Record A Double-Double (-175)
Without the presence of Kamilla Cardoso at a full allotment of playing time, Wilson is going to have a clear advantage on the boards, without much resistance at all. Wilson has recorded a double-double in 3-of-5 games played on the road. The forward for Las Vegas produced at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in two games since returning from the All-Star Break.
Wilson looks completely locked in as Las Vegas makes their push towards the post season. The veteran forward has been on the floor for an average of 33 minutes over the previous three contests, and ripped down 31 boards over that span. As long as Chicago can keep this somewhat competitive, Wilson should end this game with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Leg 6: Aces Moneyline (-258)
There's really no way to kindly describe the state of absolute peril the Chicago Sky are currently experiencing. Not only are they expected to be selling before the trade deadline this weekend, their most dominant option (Kamilla Cardoso) is not available to play a full run of 30 minutes or more. Chicago seemingly has no way to stop Las Vegas from scoring at will, and running up the scoreboard.
The Aces have won 9-of-12 games, including four out of the last five when playing on the road. Chicago is on the opposite end of the spectrum, only winning six games out the previous 18. Chicago has won three consecutive games at home. Having said that, the wins were against the three of the least successful teams in the WNBA; Seattle, Connecticut, and Los Angeles.
