Serbia takes on Puerto Rico in women's basketball. At the last Olympics, Puerto Rico was blown out in every game. Will it be the same story this time around? Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth have a huge advantage against Sophie Bukovec and Heather Bansley in women’s beach volleyball. While the price for them to win with ease leaves something to be desired, something from that match could be worth adding to a parlay. Dennis Schroder takes the court for Germany and is set to have a huge game as they battle Japan in men's basketball.

Saturday’s Best Bets For The Paris Olympics
Beach Volleyball: Nuss/Kloth (USA) -1.5 (-195) Bansley/Bukovec (CAN)
It's tough to find good odds for preliminary-round matchups in most sports. Because of the way group play has been divided, many matchups are outright mismatches. This match between the teams of Kristen Nuss & Taryn Kloth and Sophie Bukovec & Heather Bansley is no different.
Nuss and Kloth have the second-best odds of any women's beach volleyball team to win the gold medal in this event. Meanwhile, Bansley and Bukovec have odds of +25000. This is one of those typical early Olympic matches that is going to be fun to watch if you're from the USA, and hard to watch if you're rooting for the Canadians. The price isn't great, but with how bad of a mismatch this is, this is not only worth a solo play but also worth throwing into multiple parlays to help pad your odds.
Women's Basketball: Serbia -18 (-110) over Puerto Rico
Serbia have had back-to-back strong showings at the Olympics. In 2016, they took home their first medal in the sport, finishing third. They followed up that performance with a fourth-place finish in 2020.
Meanwhile, Puerto Rico struggled terribly at the 2020 Olympics. They lost all three of their games by 27 or more points, as they ended with a point differential of -104. In that same tournament, Serbia beat China 77-70. China had beaten Puerto Rico 97-55 in group play. Teams are always changing, but there is no reason to expect this game to be decided by fewer than 20 points. Even if the Serbs take the Puerto Ricans very lightly, they're going to win this game by close to 30.
Dennis Schroder 20+ points (+145)
Schroder averaged 14.0 points per game while playing with the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors this past season. While that is well below the 20 we need him to score on Saturday, there are two main reasons to like him to hit the over.
First, Schroder is not going against a team loaded with NBA talent, nor is he playing with teammates who are going to take over the game from a scoring perspective. Schroder will be called upon to be one of the leading scorers for Germany. He can answer that call.
Second, Japan is really no match for Germany. They're going to get blown out, which means that many German players are going to score above their averages in this game. Schroder may end up racking double-digit assists in this game. That's certainly a concern for his scoring opportunities. But this is one of those games where the stats may end up looking unrealistic when all is said and done.
