Monday’s Best 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Picks
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
China vs. Italy
Italy is coming off a heartbreaking three-point loss to Team USA. This was a very physical contest that culminated in one of the lowest combined point totals to date. The Italian team has a quick turnaround against another very physical China squad. China's frontcourt ranks among the best teams in the tournament. Which means Italy will have to rely more on three-point shooting. The Italian team is shooting 17% on 39 attempts from beyond the arc.
China has now split the difference over two contests, and will need to secure a win against Italy to advance into the knockout stage of the tournament. Nineteen-year-old Zhang Ziyu played very sparingly on Sunday after an impressive first showing against Team USA -13 points and six rebounds in just 18 minutes. She should see a few more minutes, considering Han Xu played 34 minutes less than 24 hours ago. If that's to be the case, Italy is in serious trouble. They will have no answer for that type of size. Not many do.
Pick: China Moneyline (-108)
Team USA vs. Czechia
After a horrendous performance against Italy, it would not surprise us to see Team USA put up over 100 points. Team USA looked like a completely different team from their opening assignment, and we would like to think that they will turn the ship around immediately. You have to remember that there are players on Team USA coming off three games in four nights who then had to fly to Berlin. Since their arrival, this will be the third game in four days. Not an easy schedule by any means.
It's possible Team USA completely overlooked an inferior Italian team with only one main source of scoring. That miscalculation almost resulted in Team USA’s first loss in over 30 FIBA games. We doubt they repeat such low efficiency - 31% shooting from the field; 13% from three-point range - or turn the ball over as much (14 turnovers). Team USA made two three-pointers in 40 minutes against Italy. We expect a much more aggressive and focused Team USA to push the scoring above 153.5 points.
Pick: Over 153.5 Points (-118)
Germany vs. Mali
This is an extremely low total for two teams that have proven they can run up the score. Germany's most skilled player on the offensive end of the ball hasn't even gotten it going yet, and the team still put up 74 points against Japan's hounding defense. Mali has been most gracious in regard to allowing their opponent to score. The opposition is averaging 85 points against Mali through two games.
Germany should score 80+ points in this contest. Mali is averaging nearly 90 points over two games. The team has proven to be not only a very capable scoring offense but is also coming off a major win against Spain. We expect a high-tempo contest resulting in a score that exceeds 146.5 points.
Pick: Over 146.5 Points (-112)
France vs. Nigeria
France has looked razor-sharp through two games and will take on a Nigerian team that has already suffered two losses. France is averaging 97 points this tournament and has held their opponents to 69 points or fewer. France has won by an average of 36 points, with each game resulting in a win of 26+ points. France continues to bury their opponents, and this contest should be no different.
This line may start to steam up throughout the day. You don't want to miss out if the line gets out of control. Especially when the spread is five points below any line that France has previously covered. This game should get seriously out of hand at one point. If you wanted to bump it up for a plus return, we wouldn't argue with that logic.
Pick: France -20.5 (-118)
