Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Sports Betting Guide

This AFC North rivalry has delivered a number of close, exciting games over the years. However, the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers both look much different than we are used to, with two young quarterbacks and two defensive units that have surrendered points this season. These rivalry games are usually a toss-up, so let’s look into it a little more.

Overview

The Ravens started the season with a dominating showing against Miami but have since struggled. Lamar Jackson has shown his inexperience at quarterback, completing just over 61 percent of his passes since the opener. Last week was a poor showing by the team as a whole, losing 40-25 to the Cleveland Browns, who forced three turnovers. Still, the Ravens have one of the best rushing attacks in the league, with Jackson at quarterback and Mark Ingram at running back, averaging over 200 rushing yards per game. Where the Ravens really struggle is defensively, where they have given up the third-most passing yards (302.0 per game) and 4.9 yards per rush (tied for fifth-worst).

The Pittsburgh Steelers came away with their first win of the season on Monday Night Football, but it came against the winless Cincinnati Bengals. Big Ben is sidelined for the season due to injury, so Mason Rudolph has come in to take snaps. We can visibly see his confidence growing by the week, but the lack of a downfield attack has the Steelers looking much different and changing what they are accustomed to with Roethlisberger. Defensively, they have struggled with everyone but the Bengals, giving up at least 24 points in the other three games. They are giving up over 120 rushing yards per game and have allowed opposing quarterbacks to complete over 69 percent of their passes.

Any Time Touchdown Scorer: Mark Ingram (+110)
The rushing attack for Baltimore has already been discussed, with them running for the most yards in the league. Averaging six yards per rush, Ingram has been one of the most impressive players this season. He also is tied for a league-high five rushing touchdowns, but Ingram is also capable of catching the football, which he has done seven times this season for 62 yards. With the team’s defensive struggles recently, Baltimore should double down on the run, making Ingram a good bet for a touchdown every week, but especially in a divisional matchup.

Bottom Line

We discussed how both teams have inexperienced quarterbacks and defenses that have been bad. However, there’s one offense that clearly stands head and shoulders above the other, and that’s the offense of the Ravens. Averaging over 200 more yards and almost 15 points more than Pittsburgh, they should bounce back after two tough losses in this one. They have also played tough football on the road.

Pick: Baltimore Ravens -3.5
