The season technically started last weekend but really gets rolling this week with a jam-packed day of great college football action on Saturday. With the best teams in the nation largely playing soft opponents, it could be a great day for betting on college football anytime touchdown scorers.

Saturday’s Best College Football Anytime Touchdown Scorers (Week 1)

Ball State at No. 1 Ohio State
In the first game of the season, it only makes sense for quarterback Julian Sayin to lean on his best wide receiver (and one of the best in the nation) early and often.
Jeremiah Smith was held scoreless in the opener last season but rebounded with a two-touchdown day in Week 2 versus Grambling. With eight starters back, it will not take long for the Buckeyes to get the offense on track against an inexperienced Ball State defense.
Smith scored two or more touchdowns in three games last season. He'll record his first multi-score game of the season this week.

Missouri State at No. 8 Texas A&M
Marcel Reed was one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the country last season and should be even better this season. He has a rebuilt offensive line that will be working on its chemistry. Consequently, there's a solid chance Reed will end up taking off and running often. He scored six rushing touchdowns last season and four in the first half.
Against a mediocre Missouri State team, Reed should score at least one rushing touchdown in the first half on Saturday.

Boise State at No. 2 Oregon
With 15 returning starters, it’s not surprising that the Ducks are one of the best teams in the nation. Among the returning starters on offense is running back Jordon Davison, who recorded 15 rushing touchdowns last season. Against this Boise State defense, the Ducks will likely stick to what they know works to start the game and build a lead.
The Broncos’ defense may be able to slow Oregon down in a few weeks once they work out the kinks, but not in Week 1.

Western Michigan at No. 16 Michigan
Michigan had a two-headed monster at running back last season with Jordon Marshall and Justice Haynes each recording 10 touchdowns.
With Haynes moving on, chances are good we'll see a lot more of Marshall early in the season until a reliable second back emerges. For this game, that means he'll get fed the ball early and often as Michigan establishes the run against the Broncos.
With the Wolverines being a team that likes to lean on the run, there is a solid chance that if he scores in the first quarter, Marshall will also score the team's first touchdown.
