Week 6 of the 2026 college football season featured some incredible performances. Oklahoma kicker Tate Sandell nailed a 47-yard field goal as time expired to upset No. 1 Texas 27-24. Missouri running back Jamal Roberts racked up 230 total yards and two touchdowns in a 27-6 victory over Texas A&M. The focus now shifts to a Week 7 slate packed with intriguing storylines and ranked programs in action. Here's a look at three of my favorite college football picks for Saturday's contests.

Saturday’s Best College Football Picks (Week 7)
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers
The path to a Big Ten championship goes through Bloomington on Saturday. The duel at Memorial Stadium will mark the 100th all-time meeting between Ohio State and Indiana. The Buckeyes are coming off a 45-16 thumping of Maryland in Week 6. Running back Bo Jackson paced the offense with 110 yards and two touchdowns on 24 touches. Meanwhile, the Hoosiers snuck by Nebraska 20-17 in Week 6. Wide receiver Nick Marsh tallied an impressive 187 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions.
The talent on the field is off the charts. Ohio State enters as a top-five program in points per game (42.7) and opponent yards per game (246.8). Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith has logged 916 yards and 11 touchdowns across six contests, making him the Heisman Trophy favorite at -220 odds. Indiana enters as a top-10 program in yards per play (7.6) and opponent points per game (14.2). The running back duo of Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe Jr. has amassed 1,148 rushing yards on 169 carries (6.8 yards per carry).
Smith is the difference-maker in a matchup with razor-thin margins. The junior torched the Hoosiers for 144 yards on eight receptions in 2025. Indiana has allowed a whopping 12.9 yards per completion in three Big Ten clashes, two of which were decided by a single possession. Trust the Buckeyes to lean on their star in the second half and pull away in the process. Ohio State has covered the spread in eight of its last 11 road games. Indiana has yet to cover the spread through four home contests in 2026.
Pick: Ohio State -3.5 (-108)
No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide at No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers
Alabama tasted defeat for the first time this campaign when it fell to Georgia 20-17 in Week 6. Quarterback Keelon Russell completed just 16 of his 30 pass attempts for 185 yards and one touchdown. Playing in the SEC means another dangerous opponent awaits in Week 7. Tennessee has rebounded from a three-point loss to Texas with back-to-back wins over Auburn and Arkansas. Running back DeSean Bishop guided the way against the Razorbacks, recording 138 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries.
The disparity in this showdown comes on the offensive side of the ball. Don’t let an average outing versus one of the best defenses in the country take away from Alabama’s offensive prowess this year. The Crimson Tide lead the nation in points per game (44.2) and are one of 11 FBS teams to score points on every trip to the red zone so far. Tennessee is still figuring out its offensive identity. The Volunteers rank outside the top 65 programs in yards per game (370.2) and third-down conversion rate (33.8%).
Part of Tennessee’s woes is quarterback Faizon Brandon’s shoulder injury. He sat out against Arkansas, and his status remains up in the air. Whether or not Brandon suits up on Saturday, it’ll be difficult for the Volunteers to keep up in the early going. Their first-half point totals over the past three weeks: 7, 3, 3. Alabama’s first-half point totals during the past three weeks: 14, 28, 35. Overall, the Crimson Tide have covered the first-half spread in 10 of their previous 15 contests.
Pick: Alabama First Half -5.5 (-112)
No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at No. 8 BYU Cougars
There has never been a top-10 battle played at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah. That will change on Saturday when Notre Dame and BYU face off. It’ll also mark the first time either of these teams has taken on a ranked opponent in 2026. The Fighting Irish have cruised to a 6-0 record, most recently crushing Stanford 58-7 on the back of quarterback CJ Carr’s three touchdowns. The Cougars boast a 5-0 record for the third straight season thanks to their 24-10 victory over Iowa State in Week 6.
Defense has been the key to these undefeated squads’ success. Notre Dame is conceding the fewest yards per game (214), second-fewest points per game (11) and fourth-fewest yards per play (3.9) in all of college football. BYU follows closely behind, surrendering the 11th-fewest yards per game (272), 10th-fewest points per game (15) and 10th-fewest yards per play (4.4) in the sport. Shutting down opposing offenses is a pivotal strength, no matter the level of competition on the schedule.
I’ll avoid picking a side here, and instead target the under. Fewer than 48 points have been scored in three of the last five meetings between the Fighting Irish and the Cougars. It’s worth noting that the under has cashed in eight of BYU’s 10 contests against ranked opponents since 2023. Bank on stars like Notre Dame All-American cornerback Leonard Moore (four passes defended) and BYU standout linebacker Cade Uluave (team-high 26 tackles) stepping up in a low-scoring thriller.
Pick: Under 47.5 Points (-110)
