Sharp money is the action professional bettors put down on a game. Here's what it means, how to spot it, and how to follow the sharps to better prices.

Wednesday’s Best NBA Preseason Picks & Predictions

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

New Orleans Pelicans (-102) at Dallas Mavericks (-118) | O/U 230.5 (-112/-108)

The Mavericks and Pelicans are both 1-1 in the preseason. But one team's experience has involved much more travel.

The Mavericks are coming off a trip that included two games against the Rockets in China. Meanwhile, the farthest the Pelicans traveled this preseason was to Miami.

I like the Mavericks more as a team, especially in terms of regular-season potential. But I think the Pelicans can go on the road and win this one.

Picks: Pelicans Moneyline (-102) & Under 230.5 Points (-110)

Chicago Bulls (-130) at Milwaukee Bucks (+110) | O/U 231.5 (-112/-108)

I like the direction the Bulls are going in as a franchise, at least compared to Milwaukee. But for this preseason matchup, I'm going with the Bucks to win at home.

Both teams will see many players get double-digit minutes, and I believe Milwaukee's second and third units will prove better than Chicago's. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, 70% of bets are on the Bulls - who have lost their last two preseason games - and on the over. Looks like we’re fading the public.

Picks: Bucks Moneyline (+110) & Under 231.5 Points (-108)

Denver Nuggets (-142) at Los Angeles Clippers (+120) | O/U 224.5 (-110/-110)

The Nuggets have won their last two preseason matchups, one at Utah and another at home against the Bulls. I don't expect they'll make it three straight, though.

Led by Darius Garland, the Clippers have a more intriguing roster than anyone wants to give them credit for. I'm going with them to win at home.

Picks: Clippers Moneyline (+120) & Over 224.5 Points (-110)
