College Football Week 4: PrizePicks Player Predictions (2024)
(Player Predictions courtesy of PrizePicks)
Anthony Hankerson More Than 75.5 Rushing Yards
Last week, the Boilermakers were unlucky enough to have to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish one week after they lost at home to the Northern Illinois Salukis. The Boilermakers were blown out, losing by a final score of 66-7 and getting outgained 580-162. The Irish ended up running the ball 43 times for 364 yards and six touchdowns.
While Hankerson has only topped 75.5 rushing yards once this season, he does enter the game averaging 5.1 yards per carry. He also ran for 57 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Oregon Ducks. That's a very noteworthy performance, and he should be able to easily build on that this week against Purdue.
Cade Klubnik More Than 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
Making this play will give you inflated odds, and we think there is a lot of value in that. Klubnik was terrible against the Georgia Bulldogs in Week 1, but he was also facing one of the best defenses in the nation. He followed that performance up with a five-touchdown, 378-yard game against the Appalachian State Mountaineers.
This week, Klubnik takes on a Wolfpack defense that is allowing 246.0 passing yards per game. They just allowed Louisiana Tech Bulldogs' starter Jack Turner to throw for 281 yards against them. The Wolfpack have also allowed at least 20 points in every game, and two of their three contests were against Louisiana Tech and Western Carolina. The Tigers are going to score 40 in this game, and Klubnik will be a big reason why.
Alex Orji More Than 124.5 Passing Yards
Orji gets the start for the Wolverines after Davis Warren struggled through the first weeks of the season. While I don't expect Orji to breathe much life into the offense, this number is incredibly low. Perhaps oddsmakers expect Orji to get pulled early in the game after the Trojans open up a big lead. Even if that happens, we think Orji will play enough to hit this number.
The Trojans don't have a very good pass defense. They did well against the Utah State Aggies, but that seems like an outlier in the season-plus amount of information we have. They gave up over 300 yards to the LSU Tigers in Week 1, and they couldn't stop anyone last season. Orji won't be great, but he'll do enough to top this total.
