The weather is cooling off, the days are getting shorter, and NFL fans around the country are getting ready to sit in front of their TV for 10 consecutive hours of football on Sunday. Somewhat surprisingly, this is a game with major playoff implications for both teams. The Colts are in the thick of the AFC South and wildcard races, while Atlanta is tied for the NFC South lead. Given Atlanta's struggles in recent weeks, I don't think the switch to quarterback Taylor Heinicke will be enough to get them over the hump and win them this game. They're coming off a loss to Carolina, and Indianapolis has won five of their past six games.
I do think Heinicke will provide an instant upgrade to the Falcons' passing game, and should allow Drake London to break 50 receiving yards. London has looked exceptional this year, and has just been limited by play calling and QB play. I also expect Gardner Minshew to throw a couple TD passes – the Falcons defense is exceptional at keeping opposing RBs out of the end zone, and Minshew should get some red zone opportunities.
