The 2025 Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) has a just two total games on the schedule for Friday night. Atlanta Dream (-105) at Indiana Fever (-115) | O/U 166.5 (-110/-110)
The Dream (12-7) square off with the Fever (9-10) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and it is expected Caitlin Clark will once again be able to play. She missed four games due to a groin injury, but the superstar played against Golden State Wednesday, albeit poorly.
Clark was limited to 10 points on 4-of-12 shooting, posting six assists with five rebounds, one steal and four turnovers in the 80-61 loss. The 19-point setback to the expansion Valkyries at home was quite alarming.
Indiana shot just 30.9% from the field, while hitting just 22.2% (6-of-27) from behind the 3-point line. The rusty Clark certainly didn’t help either of those areas. The good news is that the Fever were 13-of-14, or 92.9%, from the free-throw line. Golden State outrebounded Indiana by a plus-11 margin, while the Fever did manage to post a plus-3 in the turnover ratio department.
Indiana just hasn’t been able to sustain any long-term success this season. In fact, its longest win streak is just two games, accomplished on three separate occasions. Injuries, namely to Clark, haven’t helped, and they’re just 3-6 against the spread (ATS) in the past nine outings. The Under and Over have alternated in the past 11 games dating back to June 10 in Atlanta, an Under result.
In that June 10 game, the Dream mashed the Fever 77-58, a game Clark missed due to left quadriceps strain. In total, Clark has missed nearly half of the team’s games due to the quad or groin issues.
Atlanta shot 47.0% in that victory in June, while going just 22.7% (5-of-22) from downtown. Indiana was just 20.8% (5-of-24) from distance, and neither team was very good on free throws. Atlanta out-rebounded Indiana at a 44-to-27 margin, while the Dream were minus-2 in turnover ratio.
The Dream have lost three of the past five games, including two of the past four at home. The Dream is also 2-5 ATS in the past seven games, while cashing the Over in four in a row, and seven of the past eight.
The pick here is to take the Fever at home, as they look to get back on track, and we’ll go high on the total, as Indiana can hopefully bounce back after laying an egg last time out.
