Once firmly in the top four and destined for a spot in next year’s Champion League. Losing their last three straight, Real Sociedad finds themselves in a slide and in desperate search of a win. Getting outscored 0-7 over that run, things haven’t been particularly close either.
For the visiting Villareal, an up and down start has been followed by much of the same, as the team comes into this one with a record of 2-1-3 over their last six. However, their last time on the pitch was one of their biggest wins of the season as they beat Rayo Vallecano, a top-six team, 2-0 at home.
In this one, I like for Mikel Oiarzabal, who averages .5 goals per game, to get back to his scoring ways and lift Real Sociedad back into the winning column against a far less talented team.
