Sal Stewart (+390)
Sal Stewart has a .207 ISO and a wOBA of .347 with only 16.1% of strikeouts against lefties over the last month. Additionally, Stewart has hit 37.5% of fly balls and an 8.3% barrel rate against lefties as a right-handed batter.
Stewart will take on Kyle Harrison of the Brewers, who has allowed a .491 ISO and a wOBA of .547 against righties in the last month. Those righties have a 18.2% barrel rate. More importantly, those righties have added almost 30% of fly balls against Harrison in the last 30 days.
Harrison has struggled badly against righties, even giving up 12.7% of walks. He’s falling behind in counts against righties consistently. Let’s see if Stewart can take advantage.
Mickey Gasper (+680)
Mickey Gasper has been on a tear over the last couple of weeks. He’s a switch-hitter who will bat from the left side today. As a lefty, he has a .622 ISO and a wOBA of .603 with only 11.7% of strikeouts against righties in the last month.
Gasper has added 34.2% of fly balls and a team-best 23.7% barrel rate against righties in the last 30 days.
Today, Gaspar will battle Kyle Bradish of the Orioles. Bradish has allowed a .274 ISO and a wOBA of .455 against his last 81 lefties. He’s also given up nearly 39% of fly balls and has added just 13.6% of strikeouts against lefties over the last month.
Gasper is red-hot. It’s unlikely he’ll cool off against Bradish.
Randy Arozarena (+470)
Gage Jump will get the start for the Athletics today. The left-handed starter has allowed a .193 ISO and a wOBA of .344 to his last 92 righties. Unfortunately for him, he has to face a couple of right-handed hitters who have had a lot of success against lefties lately.
One of those players is Randy Arozarena, who has smacked a .378 ISO and a wOBA of .453 against his last 44 lefties. Arozarena has earned 43.3% of fly balls and 46.7% of hard contact against lefties in the last 30 days.
Don’t be surprised if Arozarena takes Jump deep tonight. After all, Jump has allowed over 33% of fly balls and has a low strikeout rate against righties.
