MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (4/14)

While it is still extremely early in the season, a few early trends have emerged. The Rays are never going to lose, home runs appear to be back up, and in my opinion, the rule changes have helped improve the game for the better. We have a full Friday slate for the first time this season so let’s dive into our favorite Same Game Parlay bets of the day.

San Francisco Giants at Detroit Tigers

Leg 1: Sean Manaea 6+ Ks (+100)
Leg 2: David Villar 2+ TB (+165)
Leg 3: Giants ML (-140)

Manaea has made one start and one relief appearance; the start was excellent but the relief appearance was not. He appears to be throwing harder as a Giant so far and he gets a Tigers’ team with an over 30% K-rate against lefties.

In his thus far short MLB career, Villar has hit lefties extremely well. He has a wRC+ of 146 in his career against southpaws and gets Joey Wentz today. This could just as easily be any one of the other lefty mashers the Giants play like JD Davis or Darin Ruf.

The Giants try to optimize their offense to the pitcher handedness and while they have been terrible against lefties so far this season, they just hit Clayton Kershaw well. The only team worse at hitting lefties is the Tigers. This all lines up well for the Giants to win.

New York Mets at Oakland Athletics

Leg 1: Kodai Senga 7+ Strikeouts (+125)
Leg 2: Jeff McNeil 2+ Hits (+170)
Leg 3: Pete Alonso 2+ Total Bases (+125)

Senga has 14 strikeouts so far in 11.1 innings and his stuff looks truly electric. The A’s are middle of the road in K% but Senga is special enough to hit this number.

This is one I tend to take often, especially when facing a pitcher without elite stuff like Kaprielian. McNeill is still one of the best pure hitters in baseball and he is always one of the best bets for multiple hits in any game.

Pete has been on fire in the last week and has taken over the HR lead. While Kaprielian’s shown some K potential this season, his MLB career to this point is that of a pitch-to-contact pitcher. With that type of starter on tap, Pete should be able to get an extra-base hit in this one.

Arizona Diamondbacks at Miami Marlins

Leg 1: Jorge Soler To Hit HR (+250)
Leg 2: Luis Arraez 2+ Hits (+180)
Leg 3: Marlins Over 4.5 Runs (-125)

Soler has gotten off to a great power start and gets to face an aging Madison Bumgarner. MadBum has been destroyed by the long ball over the last few seasons and Soler is easily the team’s best bet to go yard. Garrett Cooper could also fit this same mold.

Similarly to McNeil, Arraez is one of the best pure hitters in all of baseball and his bat control makes it so that he does not have massive platoon splits.

Depending on how high you want your SGP odds to reach, you can move this team total up or down to accomplish your goals. While the offense has not been great to begin the year, they have a number of right-handed hitters, and a matchup against MadBum could be just what is needed to get on track.
