Kansas City Royals vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Mike Mayers will get the start for the Royals today. Mayers has a 3.60 xFIP with 33.3% of strikeouts over the last month. However, he’s also walked 15.2% of batters and has had a BABIP of .438 in that same time frame.

Lefties are smashing a .522 wOBA and ISO of .231 against Mayers over the last 30 days. Meanwhile, the Cardinals will have Nolan Gorman in the three-spot. He’s a lefty, hitting a .275 ISO and wOBA of .370 against righties over the last 79 plate appearances.

On the other hand, Adam Wainwright will get the call for the Cardinals. The veteran has a 6.25 xFIP over the last month and has earned just over 10% of strikeouts. He’s allowing plenty of line drives and a lot of hard contact. Lefties have hit a .408 wOBA and ISO of .293 in the last month, while righties have also hit a .329 wOBA and ISO of .196. He’s been bad against both sides.

Salvador Perez has hit a .455 ISO and wOBA of .459 with 23% of line drives against righties in the last 30 days. He’s got a tremendous matchup against Wainwright. Nicky Lopez also has good numbers in a small sample size against righties. Over his last 11 plate appearances against right-handed pitchers, he’s hit a .286 ISO and wOBA of .533, with 57.1% of balls in play being line drives.

Parlay Odds: +503

Minnesota Twins vs. Houston Astros

It’ll be J.P. France on the mound for the Astros today. France has a 4.84 xFIP with low strikeouts over the last month. As a right-hander, he’s struggled more against righties than lefties. Righties are hitting a wOBA of .446 with an ISO of .383 in their last 50 plate appearances. So that’s a pretty reasonable sample size to prove that France can’t get righties out.

Byron Buxton has smashed righties over his last 85 plate appearances. He’s hit a .268 ISO and wOBA of .364 against righties. Carlos Correa also has a .174 ISO against righties.

On the flip side, Sonny Gray will get the call. He’s in the middle of an AL Cy Young campaign this year. He’s got a 3.27 xFIP over the last month and has struck out close to 30% of batters. He’ll face a Houston lineup with seven batters striking out at least 20% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. He’ll get his strikeouts today, too.

Parlay Odds: +442
