      Washington Nationals vs. Chicago Cubs

The Washington Nationals are set to start Jake Irvin tonight. The right-hander was abysmal against lefties last year, allowing a .268 ISo and wOBA of .390 to 451 lefties. He struck out fewer than 15% of lefties and allowed 61.3% of hard contact with 31.1% of fly balls and 25.8% of line drives. Irvin even allowed a 13.8% barrel rate to lefties.

Let’s stack Cubs lefties to attack Irvin.

Michael Busch has hit a .287 ISO and wOBA of .399 against righties dating back to last season. He’s also hit more fly balls than ground balls against righties during that time and has an 18.1% barrel rate since then.

Ian Happ has also smashed a .195 ISO and wOBA of .346 against righties since last year. Happ is a switch-hitter, but he’ll bat left-handed against Irvin. Happ has hit 31.3% of fly balls and 52% of hard contact against righties since last year.

Consider Pete Crow-Armstrong to add at least two total bases. He’s hit a .255 ISO and wOBA of .363 against his last 454 righties. He rarely walks and has hit more fly balls than ground balls with a 12.9% barrel rate against righties.

      Cleveland Guardians vs. Seattle Mariners

The Mariners will send Emerson Hancock to the mound for tonight’s game against the Cleveland Guardians. Hancock really struggled against lefties last season, allowing a .224 ISO and a wOBA of .365 to 213 lefties. Those lefties hit 53.1% of hard contact, nearly 30% of fly balls and had a swinging strike rate of just 8%.

The Guardians should have a lineup filled with lefties. That’ll include Steven Kwan at the top of the order, who has a wOBA of .334 and just 8.8% of strikeouts against righties since last season.

Kyle Manzardo has smashed a .213 ISO and wOBA of .337 against his last 440 righties. He has a 10.8% barrel rate against righties during that stretch, with only 30.2% of ground balls.

Bo Naylor had a .302 wOBA against righties last season. He also recorded a 11.3% barrel rate and 44.6% hard-hit rate versus right-handed pitchers in 2025.

We’re riding with a ton of lefties today. Let’s hope they all come through.
