Sunday's Best MLB Sleeper Picks Player Predictions
Mike Trout Over .5 Hits (1.30X)
It’ll be Brayan Bello on the mound for the Red Sox tonight. Bello is a young righty with tons of potential. However, he’s struggled against other righties to begin the year.
Bello has allowed a .346 ISO and wOBA of .377 to 26 righties faced this season. He’s also only struck out 19.2% of righties and has allowed 33.3% of line drives to righties to start the year.
He’ll face one of the best right-handed hitters of all time, Mike Trout. Since last season, Trout has hit a .298 ISO and wOBA of .405 against righties. He’s also hit just 30.6% of ground balls, 37.2% of fly balls, and 60.6% of hard contact.
Mike Trout should at least smack a base hit off Bello today.
Kyle Schwarber Over 1.5 Total Bases (1.84X)
Since last season, Kyle Schwarber has already smacked a .283 ISO and wOBA of .354 against righties. He rarely hits ground balls against righties and has socked 36.7% of fly balls against righties, with over 70% of hard contact.
Today, he’ll face Mitch Keller of the Pirates, who has already allowed 46 lefties a .220 ISO and a .368 wOBA.
To begin the season, Keller has given up 37.5% of line drive contact and induced just 34.4% of ground balls against lefties.
That’s the perfect setup for Schwarber to rip an extra-base hit.
Justin Turner Over 1.5 Total Bases (1.74X)
Justin Turner destroys lefties. He’s always been a major threat against lefties.
Today, he’ll get another opportunity to slug.
Kyle Freeland is on the mound for the Rockies. He’s a left-handed pitcher who has already given up a .277 ISO and wOBA of .518 to 54 righties this season. The lefty has earned just 11.1% of strikeouts and 47.6% of hard contact while rarely earning whiffs.
Meanwhile, Justin Turner has smashed a .272 ISO and wOBA of .417 against lefties since last season. Turner has also struck out just 18.6% of the time against lefties since then.
Let’s roll with Turner to add at least two total bases today.
Aaron Judge Over 1.5 Total Bases (1.71X)
We’ll finish off our Sleeper plays with an Aaron Judge play.
He’s in line to face Logan Allen of the Guardians. Allen is another lefty who has struggled against righties. He’s allowed a .226 ISO and wOBA of .369 to his first 57 righties and has only struck out 19.3% of those batters. Last season, it was more of the same, with Allen allowing a .160 ISO and wOBA of .337 to 448 righties.
Meanwhile, Aaron Judge has hit a .356 ISO and wOBA of .420. He’s one of the best power sluggers against lefties in baseball. Let’s take him to at least earn two total bases today.
