Saturday’s Best MLB Sleeper Player Picks & Predictions
Let’s dive into our top MLB Sleeper player picks and predictions on Saturday’s slate of games.
Cristopher Sanchez Less Than 4.5 Ks (1.73x)
The Phillies left-handed, Cristopher Sanchez, has struck out 21% of batters this season. However, he’s only added 19.5% against righties this year.
He’s in line to face a Washington Nationals’ lineup that should have seven righties in the lineup. Those seven righties have only struck out 15.5% of the time against lefties since last year. While Washington’s lineup has struck out a little more against lefties this season, Sanchez isn’t a heavy strikeout pitcher against righties.
Go Under with this prop.
Ryan Jeffers Over 1.5 Total Bases (1.94x)
Ryan Jeffers will likely lead things off for the Twins tonight. The right-handed catcher has slugged a .257 ISO and wOBA of .392 against lefties this season.
He’ll face Logan Allen of the Guardians tonight, who has allowed a .252 ISO and wOBA of .393 to his first 159 righties. Allen has also allowed 28% of fly balls and has struck out only 16.4% of righties this year.
In addition, Allen has allowed 50.8% of hard contact to righties and has only added 8.1% of swinging strikes against righties.
Jeffers should show off some power tonight.
Kyle Tucker Over 1.5 Total Bases (1.97x)
Kyle Tucker has smacked a .296 ISO and wOBA of .423 with only 14.9% of strikeouts against right-handed pitchers this season. He’ll be in line to face Bryse Wilson of the Brewers, who has already allowed a .231 ISO and wOBA of .340 to lefties this year.
Beyond those numbers, Wison has only struck out 19.7% of lefties. He’s also allowed 30% of line drives, with just 30% of ground balls induced.
This is a fantastic matchup for the red-hot Kyle Tucker.
Ross Stripling Under 2.5 Ks (2.01x)
The Kansas City Royals’ projected lineup has only struck out 18.9% of the time. Only Nelson Velasquez and MJ Melendez have struck out at a higher rate than 22% against right-handed pitchers.
Meanwhile, Velasquez and Melendez have above-average ISO numbers against righties this season.
The Royals will be in line to face Ross Stripling of the Athletics. Stripling has only struck out 14.5% of batters this season and has also allowed a .155 ISO and wOBA of .352 to his first 207 batters faced.
I’d be surprised if Stripling has success earning strikeouts against this Royals lineup.
Rafael Devers Over 1.5 Total Bases (1.71x)
The Cardinals will pitch Miles Mikolas. He’s a right-handed pitcher who has allowed a .209 ISO and woBA of .375 to his first 211 batters. Mikolas has ultimately struggled against both sides of the plate, adding only 16.6% of strikeouts against his first 211 batters faced this year.
The Red Sox have five bats that should fare well against Mikolas. The main one is Rafael Devers, who has slugged a .291 ISO and woBA of .419 against righties this season. Devers has even hit a 72.3% hard contact rate against righties this season. He’s also hit a 12.3% barrel percentage against righties.
A hard-hit ball into the gap or over the wall has some legs. Take Devers to go Over.
