Sunday’s Best MLB Sleeper Picks & Predictions
Let’s dive into our top MLB Sleeper picks and predictions on Sunday’s slate of games.
Kyle Tucker Over 1.5 Hit + Run + RBI (1.51x)
Kyle Tucker is one of the hottest hitters in the MLB. He’s ultimately smashed a .368 ISO and wOBA of .471 against righties this season.
Today, he’ll take on Aaron Brooks of the Athletics. While he has a small sample size, he’s allowed a .211 ISO and woBA of .355 against his first 21 lefties. Brooks has only struck out 8.5% of lefties this season and has allowed over 41% of line drives and 35.3% of fly balls to lefties this year.
Not only does Tucker have the potential for a home run, but if he gets on base, another lefty, Yordan Alvarez, could hit him home. Let’s take our chances with Tucker today.
Taylor Ward Over 1.5 Total Bases (2.15x)
Ben Lively will take the hill for the Guardians today. He’s a right-handed pitcher who has allowed a .208 ISO and wOBA of .397 to his first 82 righties.
In addition, Lively has only earned 34.4% of grounders and has allowed more than 29% of fly balls and 26.2% of line drives.
He’ll be in line to face Taylor Ward of the Angels. Ward is a righty who has smashed a .214 ISO and wOBA of .329 against righties this season. Furthermore, Ward has slugged 39.2% of fly balls and has limited ground balls to 30.8%. He’s also hit a barrel percentage of 14.2% against righties.
Nobody would be shocked if Ward hit a home run tonight with this matchup.
Aaron Judge Over .5 Home Runs (2.88x)
Aaron Judge has hit a home run in four straight games. There’s a legitimate chance he can do it in a fifth consecutive game.
He’ll take on Joe Musgrove of the Padres tonight. Musgrove is right-handed, but he’s also allowed a .272 ISO and wOBA of .391 to his first 104 righties this year.
Beyond that, Musgrove has only added 21.2% of strikeouts against righties.
On the other hand, Aaron Judge has hit a .335 ISO and wOBA of .422 against righties this year. Judge has hit more fly balls than ground balls against righties and has a 65.8% hard contact rate with a 26.1% barrel percentage. This is another insane matchup for Judge.
Ryan Weathers Under 3.5 Ks (2.12x)
The Marlins will trot out lefty Ryan Weathers tonight. He’s struck out just 19.3% of batters but has struggled even more against righties, earning just 17.7% of strikeouts this season.
In the Diamondbacks lineup, Weathers will likely face eight righties today. Those righties have struck out just 17.9% of the time against lefties this year. Only three batters have struck out 25%or higher against lefties throughout the year. With a low amount of targets, I’d back Weathers’ under.
