Sunday’s Best MLB Sleeper Player Picks & Predictions
Let’s dive into our top MLB Sleeper player picks and predictions for Sunday’s slate of games.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has smacked a .342 ISO and wOBA of .407 against his last 84 righties. He’s also struck out only 15.5% of the time in the previous 30 days against righties and has hit 50% hard contact with a team-best 16.2% barrel percentage.
Today, he’ll take on Keider Montero of the Tigers. Montero, also a righty, has allowed a .207 ISO and wOBA of .328 to his last 34 righties. The Tigers righty has only earned 14.7% of strikeouts against other righties in the previous 30 days and has allowed 50% of hard contact with 25% of line drives.
Vlad has only hit a .279 BABIP, but if he continues to put up the stats he’s hitting, that BABIP will rise. Let’s back his Over 1.5 total bases prop on Sleeper.
Ben Lively hasn’t had the best of seasons. He’s allowed a .196 ISO and wOBA of .321 to 357 batters this season. He’s also earned below 22% of strikeouts this year and has given up nearly 31% of fly balls.
The one thing he HAS done well at is limiting walks.
Lively has walked only 7% of batters this season and has given up just 6% of walks over the last 30 days.
Meanwhile, he’ll take on a Padres lineup that is super aggressive. San Diego has walked just 4.6% of the time against righties over the last 30 days with its projected lineup. Only Jake Cronenowrth and Kyle Higashioka have earned walks more than 6.2% of the time in the San Diego lineup.
Lively can get shelled today for all we care, just root for him to limit the walks!
The Chicago White Sox have been hilariously bad against righties over the last 30 days. The projected lineup has hit a .105 ISO and wOBA of .265 with nearly 27% of strikeouts and only 5.7% of walks against righties.
That won’t be ideal when they face All-Star pitcher Seth Lugo today.
Lugo has earned over 30% of strikeouts over the last 30 days. He’s also limited opponents to a .124 ISO and wOBA of .286 with more than 43% of grounders and just 18.3% of fly balls.
The veteran righty has cruised through a lot of games this season. Lugo should do it again today against the White Sox.
Corey Seager has hit a .246 ISO and wOBA of .412 against his last 66 righties. He’s struck out only 16.7% of the time against righties in the last month and has hit 30% of line drives with a 56% hard contact rate. Seager has even led the Rangers in barrel percentage with 14% against righties over the last 30 days.
Meanwhile, he’ll take on Dean Kremer of the Orioles. Kremer has struggled against lefties all year, but he’s been even worse over the past month.
Kremer has allowed a .281 ISO and wOBA of .392 with 42.9% of fly balls and just 28.6% of ground balls. Seager has a really good matchup against Kremer today.
