Tuesday’s Best MLB Underdog Fantasy Player Predictions
Matt Olson HIGHER 7.5 Fantasy Points
Matt Olson is a terror for righties. According to FanGraphs, he’s had a .360 OBP, .273 ISO and 140 wRC+ against right-handed pitchers since 2022. Olson is also on a nuclear heater. In his last 27 games and 117 plate appearances, Olson has smashed eight homers with 20 runs, 33 RBIs, a .436 OBP, .354 ISO and 204 wRC+.
Olson should feast in a plus matchup. Luis Severino has struggled with the platoon disadvantage on the road. Severino has served up a .360 wOBA to 194 lefties on the road this season.
Michael Harris HIGHER 7.0 Fantasy Points
Michael Harris is built to take advantage of the matchup against Severino. In Harris’s previous 27 games and 120 plate appearances, he’s hit eight homers with one stolen base, 19 runs, 18 RBIs, a .317 OBP, .254 ISO and 135 wRC+.
Harris also has a stellar track record against righties. In 1,010 career plate appearances against righties, Harris has hit 38 homers with a .329 OBP, .195 ISO and 121 wRC+.
Jordan Walker HIGHER 1.5 Total Bases (Scorcher 1.1x)
Jordan Walker has done well in same-handed matchups. In 449 career plate appearances against righties, he’s muscled up for 21 doubles, two triples, 15 homers, a .271 batting average, .441 slugging and .171 ISO.
Meanwhile, Ryan Feltner has struggled with righties at home. The 258 right-handed batters Feltner has faced in his career in Colorado have hit five doubles, two triples and nine homers with a .296 batting average and .451 slugging. Finally, according to FantasyPros, right-handed batters have park factors of 1.160 for singles, 1.380 for doubles, 1.940 for triples and 1.323 for homers at Coors Field.
Alec Burleson HIGHER 1.5 Total Bases
The matchup against Feltner is better for Alec Burleson than for Walker. The 307 lefties who’ve faced Feltner at Coors Field have hit 20 doubles, one triple and six homers with a .295 batting average and .476 slugging. Additionally, lefties have park factors of 1.167 for singles, 1.210 for doubles, 1.708 for triples and 1.092 for homers at Coors Field.
And, of course, Burleson is good against righties. In 801 career plate appearances against righties, he’s hit 37 doubles, one triple and 27 homers with a .265 batting average, .429 slugging and .165 ISO. Finally, Burleson’s done his best work against righties this season. In 433 plate appearances against right-handed pitching this season, Burleson has hit 17 doubles and 18 homers with a .290 batting average, .470 slugging and .179 ISO.
