Wizards vs. Knicks
The New York Knicks are coming off a 111-109 win over the Hornets in the first preseason game. New York gave up 35 points to Charlotte in the first quarter but buckled down when it mattered most, giving up just 19 points in the fourth quarter to escape with a win. In that game, no Knicks starter played more than 15 minutes. Landry Shamet, Mils McBride, and Cam Payne got the most minutes and combined for 49 points between the three of them. New York has legitimate depth. Meanwhile, they'll take on Washington, who only added 98 in a 125-98 loss to Toronto. Only one player on Washington's bench scored double-figures despite no Washington starter getting more than 24 minutes. While the Knicks have depth, Washington lacks it. Take the Knicks at -9.5 (-115).
Pick: Knicks -9.5 (-115)

Rockets vs. Thunder
Houston's starting lineup has a lot of potential. Cam Whitmore could also be the Rockets’ Sixth Man of the Year. The former Villanova star added 17 points in 19 minutes for Houston against the Jazz last time out. Yet, the Rockets still lost to the Jazz, 122-113, in the first preseason game. Ultimately, there are a lot of notable names on the Rockets' bench. Those guys just need to develop before they'll make a massive impact. On the other hand, the Thunder played Chet Holmgren just nine minutes and didn't play some of their other starters. But they still knocked off the Sputs on the road behind Ajay Mitchell's 19 and Dillon Jones' 17 off the bench. Oklahoma City has a knack for finding young talent out of nowhere. Take the Thunder at -4.5 (-115).
Pick: Thunder -4.5 (-115)

Magic vs. Spurs
The Spurs couldn't contain Oklahoma City's bench in the first preseason game. They watched as multiple players, who won't even have a roster spot with the Thunder, dominated the preseason game. Tre Jones scored just six points in 20 minutes. Keldon Johnson contributed only eight points in 23 minutes. Additionally, Harrison Barnes scored only six points in 20 minutes, and Jeremy Sochan added just nine points in 21 minutes. Someone has to step up and play better. On the other hand, Orlando doesn't have to rely solely on its starting lineup. They've got a lot more talent down the bench, including Cole Anthony, Corey Joseph, Goga Bitadze, and Moe Wagner, to name a handful. The addition of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will really help the Magic this season, too. Let's ride the Magic at -1.5 (-120).
Pick: Magic -1.5 (-120)

Warriors vs. Kings
The Sacramento Kings will get their preseason started off on Wednesday against the Warriors. Golden State already has a game under their belt with a 91-90 win in which their starters got between 12 and 15 minutes of play. There’s a good chance you’ll see something similar or perhaps even less playing time for guys like Steph Curry, Draymond Green or even Jonathan Kuminga. For Sacramento, this will be DeMar DeRozan’s debut in a Kings uniform. After a few strong seasons in Chicago, he’s moved on and will look to add a strong veteran presence to take this team to the next level. I expect Mike Brown to try and build a little in-game rapport with Derozan, De’Aaron Fox, and Domantas Sabonis. Because of this, the Kings have the edge in this contest.
Pick: Kings -2 (-110)
