Tuesday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
This Season: 41-47
On Sunday, Holmgren went 0-for-2 from deep against the Sacramento Kings. It was his first game without a made three-pointer since Jan. 29 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the five games between those two performances, Holmgren made at least two 3s in each contest.
Holmgren is averaging just 1.7 made 3-pointers per game, but he's been hot since the calendar turned to February. While Sunday's performance could be a sign of him coming back down to earth, it was also the second night of a back-to-back. Therefore, we'll back Holmgren tonight and see if what happened Sunday was a sign of things to come or a mere hiccup in an otherwise great shooting streak.
Simmons has only played 11 games this season, but he's rebounded well when he has stepped onto the court. He's averaging 8.6 boards per game despite recording just four in his last two games combined.
Tonight, he faces the Celtics, the team ranked 20th in the league regarding rebounds allowed per game. Both of these teams rank in the top 10 in the league in field goals attempted per game. In a game with a lot of shots, there will be more opportunities for rebounds. And after two rough performances, we expect Simmons to get closer to his season average.
This prop will get you lower odds at PrizePicks, but it is one of the safest plays you can make on Tuesday. Simons is averaging 5.3 assists per game, and he's recorded at least five assists in eight of his last nine contests.
Tonight's matchup is not an easy one. The Timberwolves are allowing the fewest points per game and giving up the third-fewest assists per contest. That's why we're going with the lower number for this prop. PrizePicks is also offering over 7.5 for significantly better odds, but there are very few scenarios where Simons dishes out that many assists tonight.
