San Antonio Spurs vs. Detroit Pistons

Victor Wembanyama has earned at least 24 points in three of his last four games. However, he’s facing a Pistons squad that ranks first in the NBA in points allowed to centers this season. In fact, the Pistons have allowed the fewest field goals attempted and field goals made by centers this year. In an earlier game against the Pistons, Wembanyama finished with only 16 points in 21 minutes. His usage was high at 37.5%, but with more minutes, you can expect the usage to be lower. I’m on the Under.

On the other hand, Cade Cunningham has worked the glass. He’s added at least seven rebounds in four straight games and has averaged nearly nine rebound chances per game over the last ten games. Over the last four games, he’s had at least 12 rebound chances in three of his last four games. Tonight, he’ll battle a Spurs team that ranks 28th in defensive rebounds allowed to point guards and 27th in total rebounds allowed to point guards. The opportunities will be there for Cunningham.

Finally, Dylan Harper has hauled in at least four rebounds in just 46% of games this season. He’s also averaged below 24 minutes per game over the last ten games. In addition, Harper has seen about five rebound chances per game. He’ll take on a Pistons squad that ranks second in the NBA in total rebounds. I wouldn’t expect any more than five rebound chances tonight.

Utah Jazz vs. Houston Rockets

Reed Sheppard has scored in double figures in five straight games. However, he only added ten points against the Knicks in his last one. Still, he’s averaged more than 24 minutes a night over the last ten games and has earned a usage rate of 24.2% over that span. Sheppard’s usage was really low against the Knicks, but he still managed 10 points. His usage will be much higher against a Jazz team that ranks dead last in points allowed to point guards this season.

Meanwhile, Cody Williams saw 38 minutes against Memphis for the Jazz and still finished with only five points. Williams has shot 44% or worse in his last two games and will take on a Rockets team that ranks second in points allowed to shooting guards this season.

Lastly, let’s ride it out with Kyle Filipowski to grab fewer than eight rebounds. He only secured six rebounds against Memphis, despite earning 13 rebound chances in that game. Tonight, he’ll take on a Rockets team that ranks second in the NBA in total rebounds. He likely won’t get as many rebound chances in tonight’s game against Houston.
