NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (4/11/24)

Season record: 199-128

Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 5.5 1st Quarter Points

Cade continues to be the tone-setter for the Detroit Pistons. He has missed four straight games with a knee injury but is an easy play at 5.5 whenever he is on the court. Cade has dropped six or more first quarter points in 11 of his last 13 games. Both of the games he failed to hit the mark in came against the stingy Miami Heat defense. Cunningham should come out strong tonight if active. Clap the More on Cade for Thursday night basketball.

DeMar DeRozan (G – CHI): OVER 4.5 Assists

DeRozan has stepped it back up as a playmaker recently, dishing out five or more assists in each of his last five games and in nine of his last 12. Chicago remains a perplexing team that can pull off stunning upsets, and the veteran wing is a major reason why. DeMar should have another strong outing tonight against the Detroit Pistons and will look to involve his teammates as much as possible. Only his teammates going cold and failing to connect on their shots should be able to prevent DeRozan from hitting at least 4.5 tonight. Dap the More on DeRozan for Thursday night basketball.

CJ McCollum (G – NOP): OVER 28.5 Points + Assists

I was waiting around for McCollum points, but with it still not on the board as of this morning, I pivoted to points + assists. CJ has dropped 29 or more points in each of his last four games and has hit 29 points plus assists in eight of his last 10 overall. I typically shy away from point + assists totals as they rarely offer any value. However, McCollum has been out-producing the total in points alone in his recent run, making this an intriguing high probability play despite it being tuned for Less and not More. CJ had 34 points + assists in his last game against the Kings. Clap the More on CJ for tonight's game against Sacramento.

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
