Losing money is never fun. That is why I prefer to stick to bets no higher than $20. I don't like losing $20, but I can handle it better than losing $50 or $100 (or more). But I still like to win something other than pocket change. Rather than bet on longshots all the time, I focus on same-game parlays.

Tennessee vs. Iowa State
- Leg 1: Under 139.5 Total Points (-110)
- Leg 2: Iowa State -4 (-110)
- Leg 3: Milan Momcilovic 3+ Three-Pointers (-260)
- Leg 4: Milan Momcilovic Over 16.5 Points (-115)
In this game, we have two teams with good, capable offenses, but not great ones (neither is going to put up many three-pointers). These two teams also happen to have two of the most efficient defenses in the country and play at an incredibly slow rate. Unless both teams break character tonight, we'll see a low score.
On the offensive end, Iowa State rates a little better, but from a practical standpoint, these two are drastically different in that regard. However, while both have solid defenses, the Cyclones’ defense is the better of the two (No. 5 in efficiency per KenPom; Tennessee ranks No. 14).
That defensive edge will secure a 4+ point win for the Cyclones.
If you are braver than I, you can take the Over (3.5) on Milan Momcilovic’s made three-pointers or go for 4+ at -105. I'm going to take a cautious approach here. He made 3+ in four of his last five games, including both Tournament games. Tennessee has a solid perimeter defense, but I'll bet on a guy shooting 49.3% from behind the line this season any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
Sometimes it just makes perfectly good sense to double down on something. If Milan does indeed hit 3+ three-pointers, he's well on his way to going Over his point total with just those shots. Also, he does more than just shoot three-pointers; he takes 11+ shots per game and makes 51.2% of them.
He averaged 17.2 points per game during the season and has gone Over 16.5 in four of his last five games, including 20+ in three of them. Tennessee is a solid defensive team that could hold him to under 20, but he'll go Over 16.5.
