We close out the slate with a contest involving the Commanders for the second time in as many weeks. The standard line for combined points is currently at 51.5. That seems a bit aggressive given the Cowboys and Commanders combined for 42 points in their first contests. An increase of 10 points sets off a few red flags for us. Pushing the points up to 56 gives us a little extra cushion.

Dak Prescott connected with Javonte Williams on five passes against New York. Williams was called upon frequently, and that's a scenario that should carry on through the season. The running back for Dallas hauled in all of the passes thrown his way, and definitely showed more than enough reliability to catch passes out of the backfield. We don't expect five receptions or more again, but two receptions feels very attainable against Washington.

CeeDee Lamb led the Cowboys in targets in their first game. However, the elite wide receiver only managed to accumulate 44 yards. Lamb brought in five passes, but could not break one for a sizable gain. The receptions should increase on Sunday, which would result in a bump in yards for Lamb. The wide receiver for Dallas finished with 60 yards or more in 4-of-6 home games in 2025-2026.

A team playing with a lead may run more frequently, while a trailing offense could produce additional pass attempts and receiving opportunities.
