One popular way bettors try to find value on NFL lines is by playing teasers. An NFL teaser is similar to a parlay; you add multiple legs that must all win for the bet to pay out. The key difference from parlays is that a teaser lets you buy points - like 6.0, 6.5 or 7.0 - in a direction that reduces risk. You’ll find our top NFL Week 1 teasers below.
Teaser Tips to Follow:
- Never cross over 0
- Tease through two key numbers, ideally 3 & 7
- Tease games with lower totals, ideally anything 49 or fewer

NFL Week 1 Teasers
(Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook)
Detroit Lions (-7 to PK) vs. New Orleans Saints
This one should be pretty easy to figure out. While there is plenty of promise in New Orleans, Detroit is simply the better team.
The Lions should once again have one of the better offenses in football, led by Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
The biggest question mark for Detroit heading into 2026 is its defense. There are some obvious holes in the secondary, but against New Orleans in Week 1, I don’t think we need the Lions to be perfect defensively. We just need them to win.
New York Jets (+1.5 to +7.5) vs. Tennessee Titans
Unless you have money on this game, I don’t know how anyone could be interested in watching it.
I think the Jets will improve slightly from last season, while Tennessee could legitimately be in contention as one of the worst teams in football.
There is a new coaching staff in Tennessee, but the roster remains a major concern. I actually think the Jets can win this game outright, but instead of needing that, we’re able to tease New York and get more than a touchdown of protection.
There’s no way the Titans beat anyone by more than a touchdown, right?
Houston Texans (+1.5 to +7.5) vs. Buffalo Bills
There are a lot of expectations surrounding Houston heading into 2026, but before I get too excited about the Texans, I need to see C.J. Stroud return to form.
Last season was extremely disappointing after the start he had to his career, and Stroud returning to that earlier version of himself could determine Houston’s ceiling this season.
Still, this is a Texans team I believe can win this game outright. At one point, Pinnacle, one of the sharper sportsbooks in the industry, had Houston as a 1-point favorite for most of last week. Now we have Houston with a touchdown cushion, and as long as Stroud takes care of the ball, we should see a tightly contested game.
Green Bay Packers (+1.5 to +7.5) vs. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings could be one of the more underrated teams in football this season now that they have Kyler Murray under center.
Minnesota’s offense was a mess at times last season with J.J. McCarthy, but Murray should provide an immediate upgrade at quarterback. Put him in Kevin O’Connell’s offense with weapons like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson, and there is plenty of reason to expect improvement from this unit.
Defensively, Minnesota should remain one of the league’s better units under Brian Flores. The Vikings finished third in total defense last season, allowing 282.6 yards per game, while allowing just 158.5 passing yards per game - the second-lowest total in the NFL.
That brings us to Jordan Love, who has had his share of struggles against a Flores-led Vikings defense. Over his last five meetings with Minnesota, Love is 2-3 with nine touchdowns and four interceptions, and he has surpassed 260 passing yards just once during that stretch.
I’m a big believer in Love. Yes, the defense can be an issue without Micah Parsons in the mix, but this offense can keep the game competitive and keep it within a one-score game.
Denver Broncos (+2.5 to +8.5) vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Denver should once again be one of the better teams in the AFC, and if Bo Nix is truly back to 100% following his ankle injury, the Broncos have a legitimate chance to win this game outright.
We already know the ceiling of this offense with Sean Payton calling plays, and the addition of Jaylen Waddle gives Denver another explosive weapon who could have a huge impact.
Then there’s the defense, which has a legitimate case for being the best unit in football.
How will Patrick Mahomes look in his first game back after tearing his ACL and LCL? Does Travis Kelce have anything left in the tank? What kind of impact will Rashee Rice have?
There are simply more questions on Kansas City’s sideline than Denver’s right now.
And this Denver defense has quietly become a thorn in Mahomes’ side. Over his last five starts against the Broncos, Mahomes has thrown just six touchdowns compared to five interceptions. His passer rating across those five games? Just 86.5.
Denver might not even need the points. But I’ll gladly take them.
Best Bet: Week 1 6-Point Teaser
Lions PK/Broncos +8.5 (-125 at Caesars Sportsbook)
